85^th KCCI Annual General Meeting New Office Bearers Announced

85^th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI was held at the Meeting Hall of KCCI with the participation of members. Outgoing President, Shri Anand G Pai addressed the members.

Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar was elected as the new President of KCCI at the conclusion of 85th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar is a partner at the family business, M/s P. B. Abdul Hameed & Sons, an established entity engaged in the trading of spices and hill produce.

He holds a B.E. in Biotechnology from NMAMIT, Nitte, and went on to pursue his MBA in Marketing and Finance from Alliance Business Academy, Bengaluru. He has also completed the e-Management Development Certification Programme in Investment Banking from IIM Kozhikode.

Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar was elected as the Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba as the Honorary Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira were elected as Honorary Secretaries. Shri B. A. Nazeer, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Shri Amith Ramachandra, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Shri Ashith B. Hegde, CA Nandagopal Shenoy, Shri Vincent Cutinha, Shri Sujir Prasad Nayak, Shri Dasharath N. Shetty & Shri Ajay Prabhu Karkala were elected as the Directors of the KCCI.

Elevate Brand Mangaluru 2025 – Official Launch

KCCI officially unveiled its flagship focus for the year, “Elevate Brand Mangaluru” on 23rd, August 2025 at The Avatar Convention Hall. This multi-phase initiative was aimed at showcasing Mangaluru’s immense potential to a global audience. The Chief Guests on the occasion were, Shri U.T. Khader, Speaker, Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada Dist. Shri Anand G Pai, President, KCCI welcomed the gathering and set the tone for the launch event. Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Director and Chairperson for Elevate Brand Mangaluru, KCCI digitally launched phase 1 of Elevate Brand Mangaluru. Directors of KCCI, members from Press and Media, social influencers and other delegates were present on the occasion.

Awareness Programme on SPREE and ESIC Schemes & Benefits

The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Mangaluru, and the Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) , Mangaluru, in association with the Kanara Industries Association (KIA) and the District Small Industries Association, Mangalore (DSIAM), jointly organized an Awareness Programme on SPREE 2025 (Scheme to Promote Registration of Employers and Employees) and ESIC Schemes & Benefits on 7th August 2025 at the KCCI Meeting Hall.

The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Vijayananth A.T, Joint Director, ESIC, SRO, Mangaluru. KCCI President Shri Anand G Pai delivered the welcome address, followed by Shri Shamlal Yermlal, Chairman of the Labour Subcommittee, who briefed the audience on the significance of the session.

Shri Vishal L. Salian, President of DSIAM, introduced the Chief Guest and two other distinguished speakers: Shri Hemanatha Kumar K., Social Security Officer, ESIC, Mangaluru, and Shri P. Maheswara Reddy, Head Clerk, ESIC, Mangaluru.

In his keynote address, the Chief Guest highlighted the objectives and benefits of the SPREE 2025 scheme. The other speakers further elaborated on SPREE and various ESIC schemes.

The event was also attended by KCCI Vice-President Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Secretary Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, and Directors Shri B.A. Nazeer and Shri Amit Ramachandra Acharya.

The programme saw active participation from employers, employees, HR professionals, and staff and students from educational institutions.

KCCI celebrated its Conclave for the year 2025 at Dr. T.M.A Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai welcomed the guests. Shri Sandeep Kumar Maini, Chairman, MAINI GROUP was the speaker on this occasion who addressed the gathering. He was introduced by Vice-President and Convenor of the Conclave Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar. The event was hosted by the Past President of KCCI, Smt. Vathika Pai. The vote of thanks was rendered by the Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor.

Capacity Building Workshop on RE Sourcing Options for Commercial and Industrial SMEs organized by KCCI and Idam Infrastructure Advisory Pvt. Ltd. on 10th June 2025 at the Conference Room of KCCI. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai presented the welcome address. KCCI Director Shri B. A Nazeer briefed the audience about the relevance of this topic. KCCI Vice-President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar introduced the speaker to the audience. Speaker Shri Rajiv Shukla, Executive Director, Idam Infrastructure Advisory Pvt. Ltd. addressed the members on options available on Energy resources and their benefits.

Strengthening the Local Hospitality of our Coast

An interactive meeting on the theme “Strengthening the Local Hospitality of our Coast” was held with homestay owners, service apartment proprietors, and Bread & Breakfast stakeholders was held on 17th May 2025 at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Vice-President of KCCI, delivered the welcome address. Opening remarks were made by Ms. Athmika Amin, Director of KCCI and Chairperson of the Focus Area “Elevate Brand Mangaluru.” Shri Yathish Baikampady, Former CEO of the Beach Tourism Development Project, addressed the gathering, offering insights on the subject and responding to concerns raised by homestay owners. KCCI Directors Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed and Shri Sujir Prasad Nayak, along with Past President Shri Isaac Vas, were also present. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Honorary Secretary of KCCI, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai.
