The outlet for cotton dress materials and readymade men’s clothing, ‘Cottonking’, was inaugurated at Alfa Towers, Hampankatta, Mangaluru.  Cottonking’s Director, Shri Koushik Marathe, along with Shri Walter Nandalike, Founder and Managing Director of Daijiworld Media Pvt. Pai met the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Mullai Muhilan M.P, IAS and introduced himself as the newly elected President of Chamber.  He also apprised the DC about Chamber activities and the focus areas for the year 2024-25 and also invited him to the Chamber.  KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. 16-10-2024 4.30 p. m. The Seventh Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2024-25 and the First Meeting of the new Board committee of KCCI was held at the Board Room of KCCI. Shri Anand G Pai, newly elected President,  chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers and  Directors
17-10-2024 11.30 a. m. Valmiki Jayanti was celebrated by offering floral tribute to the photograph of Maharishi Valmiki at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mangaluru. Assistant Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Santhosh Kumar and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. KCCI Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A attended the event.
18-10-2024 9.15 a. m. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai was the Chief Guest who inaugurated the three days soft skills camp for Vidyakalpaka Scholars, ‘Kshitij’ at World Konkani Centre (WKC), Mangaluru. World Konkani Centre, Chairman and Director of KCCI, CA Nandagopal Shenoy and other dignitaries were present on stage. Others present on the occasion were CA Jayanth Shenoy Nagar, Shri M. 4.00 p. m. Shri Ganesh Koran, President of Dakshina Kannada Contractors and Suppliers Association (R), an affiliated body of KCCI called on the Chairman of KCCI GST sub-committee, CA Keshav N. Ballakuraya to discuss about the issues faced by their members with regard to notices received from state GST department demanding payment of state GST along with penalties and interest. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai, KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and other members of the association were present.
8.00 p. m. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai was the speaker at the Rotary Club of Mangalore Central, the event held at Hotel Moti Mahal, Mangaluru. He spoke on Economic and Community Development. 24-10-2024 9.30 a. m. Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) organized their 4th edition of Mangaluru’s Technovanza 2024 at       Dr. TMA Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai, Directors, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Shri Ashith Hegde attended the event.
25-10-2024 10.00 a. m. Renewal of MoU between KCCI and Justice K. S. Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte was held at KCCI. The MoU was exchanged between KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai and Director of Justice K. S. Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte, Dr. Sudhir M. Present on the occasion were KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. KCCI hosted an interactive meeting of members with FDI representative of State of Pennsylvania, Ms. Supriya Kanetkar, Director, Pennsylvania Trade & Investment Office – India at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai presented the welcome address. Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar introduced Ms. Supriya Kanetkar to the delegates present. Ms. Supriya Kanetkar addressed the delegates on various trade opportunities at the State of Pennsylvania, USA. The Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor rendered the vote of thanks. Hon. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a session on Profitability Analysis, Business Planning & Valuation by Shri Ashutosh Kharangate, Managing Director and Shri Avdhut Padwalkar, Assistant Manager, Mangal Analytics and Research Consulting (MARC) at Ajantha Business Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI Im. Past President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu attended the event.
29-10-2024 10.00 a. m. The inauguration of Certificate Course in GST Taxation was organized by the Dept. of Commerce and Management & IQAC of Sri Bhuvanandra College, Karkala in association with KCCI. The event was inaugurated by CA Shivananda Pai, Sri Bhuvanandra College Governing Council. The Guests of Honour on the occasion were, KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai and the Chairman of GST sub-committee of KCCI, CA Keshava N. Ballakuraya. The event was presided over by the Principal of the college, Dr. Manjunath A. Kotian.
10.30 a. m. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) held Vendors’ Meet 2024 at Dr. TMA Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. MRPL Managing Director, Shri Mundkur Shyamprasad Kamath and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. KCCI was represented by its Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A.
7.00 p. m. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai, met the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Mullai Muhilan M.P, IAS at his office and briefed him about the non-availability of pre-paid auto rickshaw services after 9.00 p.m until early morning in Mangaluru Central Railway station causing huge inconvenience to the passengers arriving at the station. A memorandum was submitted to DC in this regard. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed was also present on the occasion.

The Kumble Group celebrated Dhana Laxmi Pooja on the occasion of Deeepawali by inaugurating their renovated corporate office at Balmatta, Mangaluru by Dr. Kumble Ananth Prabhu, Professor of Surgery, Yenepoya Medical College, Mangaluru. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Anand G. Pai, President, KCCI. Shri Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, Managing Director of Kumble Group (Past President of KCCI) welcomed the guests on the occasion and briefed the members on various services offered by them which includes, Kumble Investment & Financial Services, Kumble Solar Energy Pvt. Preparatory meeting on the celebration of Dakshina Kannada District’s Karavali Utsav 2024-25 was called by the Minister for District In-charge & Health and Family Welfare, Shri Dinesh Gundu Rao at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Mangaluru.  Various stakeholders were invited for the meeting and suggestions were taken. Present on the occasion were Member of Parliament of D.K Dist., Capt. Brijesh Chowta, MLA of Mangaluru City North, Shri Y. Bharat Shetty, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Mullai Muhilan, IAS, Police Commissioner, Shri Anupam Agrawal and other political dignitaries. KCCI was represented by its President, Shri Anand G. Pai.

4.00 p. m. Vigilance Awareness Week was organized by the Office of Commissioner of Customs at New Customs House, Mangaluru. Commissioner of Customs, Mangaluru, Ms. P. Vinitha Sekhar presented the welcome address on this occasion.  KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai was one of the Guest Speakers who spoke on their theme on “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity’. The other Guest Speakers on the occasion were, Shri Praveen Bangera, President, Steamer Agents Association, Mangaluru and Shri Philip C. C., President, CHA Association, Mangaluru. Present on the occasion were Director and Chairman of EXIM sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira and KCCI Director, Shri Ajay Prabhu.

06-11-2024 9.00 a. m. KCCI organized GST Certificate Course training programme for the students of Sri Bhuvanendra College, Karkala which will be held twice a week for a month. CA Sabana started the session which will cover various topics with many professional trainers during the coming weeks.
07-11-2024 11.00 a. m. Jaquar Group opened their showroom at M. S. Pai & Co at Mangaluru. Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Managing Partner of M. S. Pai & Co. and Hon. President briefed the Minister about the need for bigger space and better infrastructure for Centre for Entrepreneurship Opportunities & Learning (CEOL) to cater to the needs of many start-ups. The conclave featured insightful discussions, valuable networking, and an exclusive exhibition showcasing solutions and innovations from key industry players. KCCI Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba was one the panellists and KCCI Im. Past President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu was the moderator for one of the panel discussions. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai, Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Directors, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed and Shri B. A. Nazir attended the event.
4.30 p. m. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai called on the Member of Parliament (MP), Dakshina Kannada Dist., Capt. Brijesh Chowta at Circuit House, Mangaluru. President along with Hon. Secretaries, Shri Ashwin Pai Maoor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai and Director, Ms. Athmika Amin presented a memorandum to MP with regard to establishing a High Court bench in Mangaluru and also with regard to the road repair stretching from Maranahalli to Addahole falling under NH 75. KCCI Director and Head of Elevating Brand Mangaluru, the Focus area of KCCI, Ms Athmika Amin also presented to MP a proposal to showcase and advertise Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts to promote tourism and other activities benefiting the trade and commerce and employability in the region.

Chairman of Startups sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Vishwas Shishir addressed the gathering. Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar introduced the speakers to the audience. The session on Enabling Startups – Roles of Industry, Academia and Government was presented by Ms. Poyni Bhatt, Former CEO and Founding Member of Society for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (SINE), IIT Bombay, Member of Maharashtra State Innovation & Technology Development Fund and National Entrepreneurship Advisory Committee, DST, Govt. of India and Board Member at IIT Dharwad Incubator. Shri Rohith Bhat, Founder wrkwrk/99 Games/Robosoft, Founding President, TiE Mangaluru delivered a talk on Silicon Beach Program – Building our future, while preserving our culture without destroying our nature. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed was the Speaker at the Seminar on the theme, ‘Aqua Feeds and Feeding’ conducted by US Grains Council for the Aquaculture at Taj Vivanta, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He spoke on the topic “Raw Material Scenario for Aqua Feed”. It was attended by multiple stakeholders from the Aqua Feed Industry to meet and collaborate for growth of the industry

(MIAL) and Shri Vipin Nair, HR Manager, MAIL welcomed CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, President, KCCI and Shri Anand G Pai, Vice President, KCCI and other accompanying KCCI delegates, Shri P.B. 6.00 p. m. Shri Anand G. Pai was elected as the new President of KCCI at the conclusion of 84th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI. Shri Anand G. Pai is the Executive Director of M/s Bharath Beedi Works Private Limited, Mangalore. He started his Professional career through his family business and took charge of Strategic Planning and Diversification of Bharath Group. He completed schooling in Mangalore. He graduated as Industrial Production Engineer from Andrews University Michigan, U.S.A. and later pursued Masters in Software Engineering from the same University.

Ahmed Mudassar was elected as the Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba as the Honorary Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai were elected as Honorary Secretaries. Shri B. 20-07-2024 12 noon Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, chaired a meeting at the Conference room of Deputy Commissioner’s office to review highway issues of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu had submitted a memorandum to Capt. Brijesh Chowta the previous day to immediately look into the issues with regard to the blockade of Mangaluru – Bengaluru road connectivity at Shiradi and Sampaje Ghats. Shri Mullai Muhilan, Deputy Commissioner, Shri D. Vedavyasa Kamath, Mangaluru South MLA, Shri Anupam Agrawal, Police Commissioner, Mangaluru also spoke on the occasion. 2.15 p. m. Infosys hosted the Board of KCCI at its campus in Mudipu, Mangaluru. Infosys Vice-President and Head – Delivery Risk Management, Shri Vasudev Kamath welcomed the delegates from KCCI and spoke about Infosys campus in Mangaluru and took us around the campus facilities. Various associations across India participated in the event through a virtual platform. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi was the Chief Guest who addressed the gathering. Minister for Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal was the Guest of Honour at the event. Finance Minister, Smt. Niramala Sitaraman and other Ministers were also present on the occasion. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Professional Skills Enrichment Committee (PSEC), ICAI, Mangaluru Branch of ICAI (SIRC) in association with KCCI, organized International MSME Day – Entrepreneurship Skills for Chartered Accountants, at Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu delivered the opening address on the topic. The STF, a Global Trade Association, convened the session to address forced labour and illegal fishing within Shrimp and Tuna Supply Chains. During the session, STF outlined its objectives and work details. Shri Nissar actively engaged in the discussions.

The occasion marks the 111th birth anniversary of Shri Manel Srinivas Nayak, a distinguished educationist and former President of KCCI, after whom MSNIM is named.

;   4.30 p. m. The Twelfth Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2023-24 and the sixth Meeting of the present committee of KCCI was held at the Boardroom of KCCI. CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
14-03-2024 3.30 p. m. KCCI organized a Workshop on Unlocking Business Potential – A tailored Business Workshop at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. Business owners and Finance Heads of various organizations attended the session. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu delivered the welcome address. KCCI Vice-President, Shri Anand G. Pai introduced the speakers to the audience. Speakers for the event were Shri Pugal T., Senior Consultant, Tally Solutions who spoke on ‘Skyrocketing your business to the next level’, Shri Sushant Shetty, SVP & Head, Channel Liabilities, DBS Bank India spoke on ‘Discourse by DBS’ and Shri Shreyas Bharadwaj, Account Director – ESMB – South India, Sales Force addressed the gathering on ‘Discourse by Sales Force’. KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor was also present on the occasion. The vote of thanks was rendered by the Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar
18-03-2024 9.00 a. m. St Aloysius (deemed to be University) in collaboration with Indian Science Technology and Engineering facilities Map (I-STEM) organised “Samavesha 2024” – Uniting Minds and Igniting Innovations. The inaugural ceremony was held at Fr L.F. Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block was presided over by Rev. Dr Praveen Martis SJ. Shri Adeeth Kalbavi, Managing Director of Kalbavi Consumer Foods Pvt. Ltd. was the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Immediate Past President of KCCI delivered the keynote speech and highlighted the role of technology in innovation.  There were enlightening sessions by various speakers.
19-03-2024 10.00 a. m. Members of Red Chilli traders called on KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and briefed him about the problems faced by them from railways in transporting their goods to various destinations. They submitted memorandum to KCCI President and requested to take up the matter with the railway departments. KCCI had written letters to railway authorities seeking immediate action for the smooth functioning of trade activities.
20-03-2024 4.30 p. m. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru and Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Panaji, Goa at GCCI. The MoU was exchanged between the Presidents of both the Chambers, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and Shri Shrinivas V. Dempo respectively. Others present on the occasion from KCCI were Vice-President, Shri Anand G Pai, Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Past President, Shri Isaac Vas and Chairman of KCCI ADR Centre, Prof. CA Lional Aranha. Members from GCCI who attended the event were, Vice-President, Ms. Pratima G. Dhond, Hon. Treasurer, CA Rohan Bhandare, Director General, Shri Sanjay Amonkar and others.
23-03-2024 3.00 p. m. KCCI held its valedictory ceremony on the successful completion of 27 hours of 1st Batch of Comprehensive GST Training Program held from 23rd February, 2024 to 23rd March, 2024 at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. Accounting professionals from various companies and job seekers actively participated in large numbers for the training. All the trainers were Chartered Accountants with extensive knowledge and experience in various fields. A practical session on Tally was also conducted at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) lab in Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu congratulated all the participants on successfully completing the training program. Chairman of the GST sub-committee of KCCI, CA Keshava Ballakuraya re-iterated some of the challenges faced in GST related works with case studies and suggested suitable remedies. All the participants were presented with the certificates. CA Sabana and CA Shraddha Sanghvi, present on the occasion, addressed the participants. Participants shared their feedback and also suggested that they look forward to more training programmes. Hon. Secretary, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar rendered the vote of thanks.
