21-01-2026–3.30 p. m.–The First Meeting of the Infrastructure and Urban Development and Smart City Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2025-26 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the committee, Ar. Niren Jain. The meeting was attended by Shri P.B. 4.30 p. m.–The Tenth Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2025-26 and the Fourth Meeting of the Committee was convened at the Board room of KCCI. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers Directors and special invitees.
23-01-2026–4.30 p. m.–The meeting for the preparation of District Skill Development Plan (DSDP) for the year 2025-26 was convened by Shri Darshan H. V. IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada Dist., Mangaluru at the Court Hall of, Deputy Commissioner’s office. Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary, KCCI attended the meeting.
29-01-2026–10.00 a. m.–The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), in association with the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, organized a Certification Training Program on Low-Carbon Building Transition at Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru.

Shri M. N. Girish, Senior Director, FICCI, delivered the welcome address and outlined the objectives of the program. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, also addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of sustainable and energy-efficient building practices.

As part of the technical sessions, Shri M. N. Girish presented an in-depth session on “Introduction to the ALCBT Project, Energy Scenario, and Building Energy Efficiency Program.” Shri Govind Patel, Master Trainer, FICCI, conducted a detailed session on “Fundamentals of GHG Accounting, GHG Protocol, Scope 1, 2 & 3, and Understanding Embodied Carbon and Life Cycle Assessment.”

The program aimed to enhance awareness and capacity building among stakeholders on low-carbon building practices and climate-responsive construction. Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President – KCCI, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon-Secretary-KCCI and Shri Dasharath N Shetty, Director – KCCI attended the event. Members from various industries participated in the training program.

12.30 p. m.–Shri K. Ullas Kamath, Mentor – FICCI Karnataka State Council, called on the Office Bearers of KCCI and other industry members for a luncheon meeting at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru.

The Chief Guest during the meeting, Shri Chandru K. Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner, interacted with the delegates on the Free Trade Agreement between India and the UK, as well as investment opportunities between the two countries across various sectors.

The meeting was attended by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI; Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President; CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Treasurer; Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary; and Smt. Vathika Pai, Past President of KCCI among other members from various sectors.

7.00 p. m.–Shri Chandru K. Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner for Karnataka & Kerala and HM Deputy Trade Commissioner – South Asia (Investment), hosted industry members for the UK–India Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) Business Networking Reception on 29th January 2026 at Hotel Vivanta, Mangaluru.

The interactive meeting focused on the Free Trade Agreement between India and the UK, as well as investment opportunities between the two countries across various sectors.

01-02-2026–11.00 a. m.–KCCI convened a review meeting on the Union Budget 2026-27 at the Conference Room of KCCI. The session focused on analyzing the key highlights of the Budget presented by the Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman virtually. The meeting was presided over by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President in the presence of Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary, Shri Anand G. Pai, Im. Past President,  CA Prasanna Shenoy, Chairman – Income Tax sub-committee, CA Gautham Nayak, Chairman – Accounts & Audit committee and CA Poornima Nayak, a member. During the meeting, members discussed various provisions of the Budget and their impact on trade, industry, taxation, and the regional economy. The KCCI team subsequently shared its views and observations with the Press.
02-02-2026–4.30 p. m.–The First Meeting of the Airlines, Airport and Tourism Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2025-26 was convened at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Vathika Pai, Chairperson of the Committee. The meeting was attended by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary – KCCI, other members of the committee, Ms. Athmika Amin, Director – KCCI, Shri William D’Souza, Shri Yathish Baikampady, Smt. Eulalia D’Souza, Shri Prashanth Rao Aroor, Shri K. Rajendra Kumar, Shri Jagannath Naik M., Shri Rammohan Paramjape, Shri Jenson Prakash, Shri Siddesh and Shri Dhruvin Jasani.
04-02-2026–11.00 a. m.–The 167th Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting was held at Valluvanad Hall, Divisional Office, Palakkad.  The meeting was chaired by Shri Madhukar Roat, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Palakkad Division. Shri M. Ahmed Bawa, the nominated member from KCCI representing DRUCC attended the meeting and put forward key suggestions concerning railway services and passenger amenities.
11.30 a. m.

–A meeting with seafood exporters of Karnataka and Goa was held through video conference. Capacity fixation of Fish Meal & Fish Oil plants as per the new MPEDA guidelines and other key points were discussed. Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Director – KCCI attended the meeting.
05-02-2026–3.00 p. m.–A round table discussion on the Strategic Agri-Business Dialogue Session was organized by Kerala Climate Resilient Agri Value-Chain Modernisation at the Conference Hall of KCCI. Shri Suresh C. Thampi, Deputy Director, Dept. of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Govt. of Kerala/Procurement Officer, KERA Project addressed the members on Productive Alliances of Farmer Producer Companies and Agri Business Partners. KCCI President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar presented the welcome address. Present on the occasion were KCCI Vice-President, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Directors, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohameed and Shri Vincent Cutinha. Members of various agro industries were present on the occasion.
06-02-2026–10.30 a. m.–KCCI, in association with Ocean Centres India—hosted by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and supported by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation-organized a Stakeholders’ Workshop titled “Stepping Stone towards a Safe & Sustainable Ocean Economy in India” on 6 February 2026 at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. The workshop focused on the thematic areas of Fisheries & Aquaculture and Shipping & Ports.

Shri Ratnesh, Executive Director, UNGC India, delivered the welcome address and set the context for the event, highlighting the importance of collaborative action for building a resilient and sustainable ocean economy. Shri Ravi Raj Atrey, Country Lead, Ocean Centres India, briefed the participants on the scope of Ocean Centres and outlined the benefits and privileges of membership.

Addressing the gathering, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, spoke on the scope and challenges faced by the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, while also emphasizing the critical need for mental wellbeing initiatives for seafarers. He reiterated that one of the Chamber’s core mandates has been to educate and inform SMEs and MSMEs about emerging trends, global developments, and future opportunities.

The event also featured addresses by other distinguished delegates, followed by panel discussions on Socio-Economic Challenges of Fisheries & Aquaculture and Mental Wellbeing of Seafarers, with insights shared by expert speakers. Members from various marine and allied industries, along with academicians, actively participated in the deliberations, contributing to meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange. Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President – KCCI and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira, Hon. Secretary – KCCI were present on the occasion.

4.00 p. m.The 22nd Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee (PTFC) meeting and Sectoral meeting on On-going challenges/ issues faced in FAG 1 & 1A was conducted at Netravathi Auditorium, New Custom House, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Ms. P. Vinitha Sekhar, IRS. KCCI was represented by Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President and CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Treasurer.
4.15 p. m.–An outreach program was organized by Shri Harikrishnan D., Joint Commissioner, on “Baggage Rules 2026 and New Customs Baggage (Declaration and Processing) Regulations, 2026” at Netravathi Auditorium, New Custom House, Mangaluru. Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Treasurer – KCCI and members of other trade associations were present.
07-02-2026–10.30 a. m.–The Governing Body meeting for the year 2025-26 of CEOL was convened at Deputy Commissioner’s Office,  Mangaluru under the Chairmanship of Shri Darshan H.V., I.A.S, Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada District. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI and Shri Ajay Prabhu, Director and Chairman, IT Sub-committee of KCCI attended the meeting.
10.30 a. m.–The Launch Ceremony of Coastal Startup Fest 2026 was jointly organized by NITTE and MRPL at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. The guests on the occasion were Shri Manjunath Singai, General Manager, Canara Bank, Mangaluru; Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President-KCCI, CA S. S. 10-02-2026–9.00 a. m.–Entrepreneurship Development Programme – 2026 was organized by the School of Business Management, Department of MBA, AIMIT Centre, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru at Arthur Shenoy Memorial Auditorium, AIMIT. The event was inaugurated and formal address was given by Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President- KCCI. Shri Ajay Prabhu, Director- KCCI, one of the Speakers addressed the students on ‘My journey as an Entrepreneur’ and Smt. Vathika Pai, Past President – KCCI addressed the students on ‘Mentorpitch-Where Young Ideas Meet a Wise Mind’. There were other prominent speakers from other industries.
12-02-2026–9.00 a. m.–Impetus 2026 – Igniting Young Minds was organized by St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University) at their Eric Mathias Hall, Mangaluru. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Other speakers for the event were, Dr. Royal Praveen D’Souza, Director – Siona Solutions, Shri Prashun Shetty, Founder & CEO – TagSkills EdTech Pvt. Ltd and Shri Ashish Rai, Director – Pentagram Systems. The fest aims to inspire entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and leadership among students.

16-02-2026–3.30 p. m.–The First Meeting of the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR), Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2025-26 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by Prof. CA. Lional Aranha, Chairman of the Sub-committee. The meeting was attended by Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President-KCCI, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President – KCCI and members of the committee, CA Naveen Narayan and CA Colin O. Rodrigues.
17-02-2026–10.00 a. m.–Budget Sameeksha 2k26 was organized by the Department of MBA, in association with Finance Club, ‘Artha’ at Shree Devi Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. The resource persons for the event were CA Keshava N. Ballakuraya, Chairman – GST sub-committee of KCCI and CA Sabana, Partner, M/s. Ballakuraya & Associates.
4.30 p. m.–The Eleventh Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2025-26 and the Fifth Meeting of the Committee was convened at the Board room of KCCI. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers and Directors.
18-02-2026–11.00 a. m.–Public Hearing of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) tariff revision application was held at MESCOM Bhawan, Mangaluru.  The meeting was chaired by Shri P. Ravi Kumar, Chairman of Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC). Shri H K Jagadeesh, Member, KERC was also present. KCCI was represented by its President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba and Director and Chairman of Power Sub-Committee of KCCI, Shri B. A. Nazeer who presented the objections on tariff hike before the officials of KERC.
1.00 p. m.–Members of Coastal Karnataka Sailing Club (CKSC) visited KCCI to brief about the opportunities in water sports and tourism. Shri Satyavir Singh Siwatch, Secretary – CKSC briefed Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI about CKSC and opportunities. Shri Rohan and Shri Yashwanth – Sailing Instructors also briefed about water sports. Present in the meeting were Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President – KCCI and Shri Anand G Pai, Im. Past President – KCCI.
4.30 p. m.–Screening Committee meeting for Single Window meeting was held at District Industries Centre (DIC), Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, DIC, D.K Dist., to discuss the allotment of land and new applications seeking for land in the industrial area. KCCI was represented by Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI.
20-02-2026–10.15 a. m.–MIR Net Zero Vision 2047 was unveiled with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp at TMA Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. 12.30 p. m.–BOLPU, an initiative by Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada dist., organized a meet with the theme, ‘11 Ideas Rooted in Impact – One Shared Journey Forward’ at Hotel Madhuvan Village, Mangaluru. Capt. Brijesh Chowta congratulated all the 11 Startup companies and who will be mentored by the expert panel. Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI attended the event.

CHAMBER AT WORK : DECEMBER 2025 – JANUARY 2026

12-12-2025–10.30 a. m.–Srinivas University – Institute of Management and Commerce and the Institute of Port, Shipping and Logistics Management, Department of MBA, Mangaluru, in association with Maaref University of Applied Sciences, Syria, organized a two-day International Conference on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Social Transformation in the Digital Era (ICIESD) at the university campus.          Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President of KCCI, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr. Venkatesh Amin, Dean, along with other dignitaries, faculty members, and participants, were present at the inaugural session.

 

11.00 a. m.–The Governing Board Meeting of Karnataka (Govt.) Polytechnic (Autonomous), Mangaluru, was held at the institution’s Seminar Hall. Shri Ravindra M. Keni, Dean (Academic), delivered the welcome address.                      Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President of KCCI, attended the meeting. Shri Prasanna H., IAS, Director, DTE, Bengaluru, and Chairman of the Governing Board, delivered the Presidential address. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Narayanaswamy R., Associate Dean (Academic).

 

04.00 p. m.–KCCI organized an awareness session on the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme at the KCCI Meeting Hall. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, delivered the welcome address. Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President, KCCI, introduced the Chief Guest and the speaker to the audience.

Smt. Dhanalakshmi D. N., Assistant Director of Agriculture (HQ), Office of the Joint Director of Agriculture, Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru, was the Chief Guest and presented the introductory remarks on the scheme. The session was conducted by Dr. A. A. Fazal, Food Scientist and Retired Professor, and District Resource Person (Dakshina Kannada), who also briefed the participants on the Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the National Livestock Mission (NLM).

Entrepreneurs and budding entrepreneurs actively participated in the programme. Aruna Industries sponsored the event. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary, KCCI

 

13-12-2025–06.30 p. m.–Rifah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mangalore Chapter organized Business Insights 2.0, an exclusive gathering of entrepreneurs, innovators & business leaders at A.J. Grand Hotel, Mangaluru. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

 

16-12-2025–11.00 a. m.–Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, called on Shri Gokul Das Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru, at the District Industries Centre to discuss the availability of land in Dakshina Kannada district for the establishment of new industries. Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President, KCCI, and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary, KCCI, were also present during the meeting.

 

03.00 p. m.–Entrepreneurship Development Program, MSME & Startup Boot Camp 2025 was organized by Nitte Institute of Professional Education at NIPE Auditorium, Mangaluru. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President was one of the Chief Guests at the event. The other Chief Guests were Prof. Dr. Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President (Technical Education), Nitte (Deemed to be University), Shri Niranjan Kumar, Senior Regional Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Regional Office, Mangaluru and Dr. Raghvendra Holla, Chairman, Swastika National Business School, Mangaluru.

 

7.00 p. m.–Gala Christmas 2025 Sparkle was celebrated by Rachana, Catholic Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mangaluru at Eden Club, Mangaluru. The Guest of Honour at the event was Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI.           Shri Roy Castelino, President, Rachana and dignitaries were present on the occasion. Shri Vincent Cutina, Director – KCCI was also present at the event.

 

17-12-2025–09.30 a. m.–Melkar Women’s PU and Degree College, Bantwal celebrated their 17th Annual Day – Fusion 2025 and Graduation Day at their college premises. The event was inaugurated by Shri Asif Mohammed, Architect, The AM Studio. The Chief Guests on the occasion were Shri P.B. 19-12-2025–07.30 a. m.–On the occasion of the 60th death anniversary of                  Late Shri Ullal Srinivas Mallya, the visionary of Mangaluru and Co-Founder of KCCI, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, garlanded his bust at Padil, Mangaluru. Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary, KCCI, and CA Nandagopal Shenoy, Director, KCCI, and President of World Konkani Kendra, Mangaluru, also paid floral tributes by garlanding the bust. Members of various associations were present on the occasion.

 

10.30 a. m.–KCCI hosted the State level GST Consultative Committee Meeting, conducted by DGSTO, Mangaluru Division at KCCI Meeting Hall, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Shri Kumara V, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Admin). Also present in the meeting were Shri Lakshapathi Narayana Naik, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement), Shri Sanjay Balipa, Asst. Commissioner, Head Quarters, GST and Shri R M Gogery, Assistant commissioner, Appeals. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI welcomed the delegates for the meeting. CA Keshava N Ballakuraya, Chairman, GST sub-committee – KCCI, Shri Ganesh Bhat, member of GST sub-committee of KCCI and other members were present in the meeting. 23-12-2025–09.00 a. m.–KCCI and the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mangaluru Chapter, jointly organized a one-day seminar on “Understanding the Labour Codes and Its Implications – Practical Insights to Transition from the Old Labour Laws to the New Labour Codes” at The Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. The seminar was inaugurated by Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada District, in the presence of Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI; Shri Prabhoda K. S., Chairman, NIPM – Mangaluru Chapter; and the speakers for the event, Shri S. K. Gupta, Solicitor and Advocate, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, and Shri Govindaraju N. S., author and labour law and industry expert. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from participants across various industries and professions, including manufacturing and service sectors, advocates, chartered accountants, and labour law consultants. Other KCCI office-bearers present at the event included Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President; CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Honorary Treasurer; Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary; and Shri B. –A hybrid meeting was held at the Board Room of NMPA to discuss a proposal by the Central Warehousing Corporation for establishing a Container Freight Station in the vicinity of the port. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President delivered the welcome address. Shri Vinod A. R. Pinto, President, CREDAI Mangalore also addressed the gathering on the significance of the topic. 06-11-2025–3.00 p. m.–Evolve, the women entrepreneurs’ association, organized an engaging panel discussion on the theme “Empowerment – Myth or Reality?” at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru. The panel featured several distinguished participants, including          Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Director of KCCI and Head of Elevate Brand Mangaluru, a Focus Area initiative of KCCI; Ms. Rahasya Pai Maroor, Chairperson of the Women Entrepreneurs Sub-committee of KCCI; and Ms. Salome Lobo, Associate Editor of the Journal of KCCI, among others.

 

10-11-2025–3.30 p. m.–The First Meeting of the Elevating Brand Mangaluru, Focus Area of KCCI for the year 2025-26 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Director & Head of the Focus Area of Elevate Brand Mangaluru. The meeting was attended by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Director, Smt. 11-11-2025–11.00 a. m.–Airport  Users’  Consultation  Committee meeting for Mangaluru International Airport was held virtually to discuss on proposed capital expenditure projects at Mangaluru International Airport. The meeting was chaired by Shri Binu Varghese, Chief Airport Officer, Mangaluru International Airport Limited, Mangaluru. KCCI was represented by           Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, Smt. Vathika Pai, Past President, KCCI and Chairperson of Airlines, Airport and Tourism sub-committee of KCCI.

 

13-11-2025–12 noon–The First Meeting of the Labour Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2025-26 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by Shri Shamlal Yermal, Chairman, Labour Sub-committee of KCCI. The meeting was attended by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary.

 

  2.30 p. m.–New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Stadium, Mangaluru. The event was presided over by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, in the august presence of Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India.

Ms. Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for MSME and Labour & Employment, Government of India; Shri Mankal S. Vaidya, Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport, Government of Karnataka; Capt. Brijesh Chowta, MP, Dakshina Kannada; Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, Chairman, NMPA; and other dignitaries graced the occasion.

  4.30 p. m.–Kaju Centennial Summit 2025 was organized by Karnataka Cashew Manufacturers Association (KCMA) to commemorate 100 years of cashew processing in Mangaluru at Dr. T.M.A Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. Ms. Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State of MSME and Labour and Employment, Govt. of India inaugurated the event. Shri P. B. 03-09-2025–9.30 a. m.–Final Pitch Day – Exploring Entrepreneurship Program was organized by Canara Engineering College at their Seminar Hall 2, Mangaluru. 14 shortlisted student teams presented their start-up ideas before the expert jury members arranged by SI8. The jury members on the occasion were Shri Vishwas US, Chairman, Start-up Sub-Committee of KCCI and Founder Director, Section Infin-8 Foundation (SI-8), Shri Puneeth Rai, Incubation Manager, Atal Incubation Centre, Nitte and Shri Ajay Prabhu Karkala, Director, KCCI and Managing Director of KVP Business Solutions, Mangaluru. Dr. Udaya Kumar K. Shenoy, Dean, Research & Development and Shri Prashanth Kumar A., Coordinator-Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the college were also present on the occasion.

 

06-09-2025–11:00 a. m.–KCCI Director and Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association of India (CLFMA) Hon. Secretary, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed virtually participated in the Stakeholders Consultation Meeting under the Informal Group of Ministers (IGoM) on Social, Welfare and Security Sectors for the Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Fisheries Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAHD) held in hybrid mode to invite suggestions on the four pillars of the IGoM (legislative, policy, institutional, and process reforms) for the fisheries sector. The Meeting was chaired by Union Minister, MoFAHD and Panchayati Raj, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh. Secretary, Department of Fisheries (DoF) Shri Abhilaksh Likhi steered the consultation and feedback session aimed at identifying the challenges and reforms for enhancing production, productivity and exports promotion in the fisheries sector in line with the vision of becoming Viksit Bharat by 2047. Shri Nissar proposed to the Government that Fish Soluble Paste, a key input in the Fish Feed Industry, should be exempted from GST (0%).

 

08-09-2025 6.30 p. m.–KCCI Vice-President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar attended an exclusive round table hosted by Vertex Managed Workspace in honour of Shri John Maier, Chief Executive Officer Bose Professional, spotlighted Mangaluru’s emergence as a promising technology hub held at Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru. The event brought together industry leaders, academics, and government representatives to explore the city’s potential for innovation and enterprise. Shri Darshan H. V., IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, presided over the session.

 

09-09-2025–1.00 p. m. An interactive session was organised at Wrkwrk, Mangaluru to enlighten the Delegates from Nagpur,   Shri Shashikant Chaudhary of Happy Eaters.  and Retd. Lt. Cdr. Yogesh Bhavsar from GAME on the initiatives taken by various organizations in Mangaluru for the overall growth of the Region. Also insights pertaining to the development of the region of the visiting delegates were discussed. Delegates from Other trade bodies, education institutions, trade and IT fraternity were present. The chamber was represented by its vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar.

–KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai along with delegates from various associations, participated in a discussion organized by the newspaper Vijaya Karnataka at their Mangaluru office. The session focused on the topic ‘Roads and Infrastructure in Mangaluru’ to be featured on the occasion of Engineers’ Day.

 

  10.30 a. m.–KCCI Vice-President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, participated in the Press Meet organized by the Branch MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Mangaluru. The meet was held to brief the media about the upcoming Vendor Development Programme & Industrial Exhibition – MSME Expo 2025, scheduled on 18th and 19th September 2025 at Mini Town Hall, Mangaluru. The event is being jointly organized by the Ministry of MSME, KCCI, District Industries Centre (DIC), and Kanara Industries Association (KIA).

 

  4.00 p. m.–Adani Airports – Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) hosted The Aero Meet 2025 at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru. Shri Mukesh Nankani, Chief Administrative Officer, MIA presented the Welcome address. Shri Anand G.  Pai, KCCI President, Smt. Vathika Pai – Past President of KCCI, and other delegates participated in the panel discussion on the topics, ‘Magic of Air Travel’ and ‘Magic of Mangaluru’.             Ms. M. Athmika Amin, KCCI Director and Head of Elevate Brand Mangaluru, Focus Area of KCCI, addressed the gathering on KCCI’s role in elevating brand Mangaluru. The event was attended by Shri P.B. 23-09-2025–11.00 a. m.–Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)-Karnataka Regional Affiliated Associations Meeting 2025 was held virtually with special focus on Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) initiative. The meeting was chaired by Shri Guruprasad Mudlapur, Vice Chairman, CII Karnataka & President, Bosch Group in India & Managing Director, Bosch Ltd. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. 24-09-2025–10.00 a. m.–The fifth edition of Mangaluru Technovanza 2025, an initiative of Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) under the Beyond Bengaluru programme was held at Dr. TMA Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru.       Shri Priyank Kharge, Minister for IT and BT, Govt. of Karnataka, Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, Shri B.V. Naidu, Chairman of KDEM, Shri Mohandas Pai, Former Infosys CFO and other dignitaries were present on the occasion who addressed the gathering. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. 25-09-2025–11.00 a. m.–The 166th Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting was held at Valluvanad Hall, Divisional Office, Palakkad.  The meeting was chaired by Shri Madhukar Roat,  Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Palakkad Division. Shri M. Ahmed Bawa, the nominated member from KCCI representing DRUCC attended the meeting and put forward key suggestions concerning railway services and passenger amenities.

 

27-09-2025–4.30 p. m.–85th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI was held at the Meeting Hall of KCCI with the participation of members. Outgoing President, Shri Anand G. Pai addressed the members.

–Dr. K. U. Mada, a distinguished member of the Editorial Board KCCI, officially launched his latest book titled “Spirit of Enterprise – Basic Moving Force Behind Life”. The book was formally released by the President, Shri Anand G Pai, in the presence of Vice-President Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Treasurer CA Abdur Rahman Musba, and Hon. Secretaries Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai. The book highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit and intellectual contributions of Dr. Mada to the business community.

 

  6.00 p. m.–Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar was elected as the new President of KCCI at the conclusion of 85th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar is a partner at the family business, M/s P. B. Abdul Hameed & Sons, an established entity engaged in the trading of spices and hill produce.

 

He holds a B.E. in Biotechnology from NMAMIT, Nitte, and went on to pursue his MBA in Marketing and Finance from Alliance Business Academy, Bengaluru. He has also completed the e-Management Development Certification Programme in Investment Banking from IIM Kozhikode.

 

Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar was elected as the Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba as the Honorary Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira were elected as Honorary Secretaries. Shri B. A. Nazeer, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Shri Amith Ramachandra, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Shri Ashith B. 09-10-2025–9.30 a. m.–A two days’ workshop on ‘Technology Clinic’ was organized by MSME, Government of Karnataka, in association with Kanara Industries Association (KIA), Mangalore at C N Shetty Convention Hall, KIA, Mangaluru. Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Shri B.A. Nazeer, KCCI Director and Chairman of Energy, Power, Banking, Finance and MSME, Sub-committee of KCCI and other dignitaries were the Chief Guests on the occasion.

 

  4.30 p. m.–KCCI President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar called on the Chairman of New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA),          Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju at his office and submitted an memorandum for extension for rebate on vessel-related charges (VRC) for Container Vessels. Present in the meeting were KCCI Vice-President, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Hon. Secretaries, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequiera. The office bearers of KCCI also met Smt. S. Shanthi – Dy. Chairperson, NMPA, Shri Jijo Thomas – Secretary, NMPA and Shri K. Rajendra Kumar – Traffic Manager, NMPA.

KCCI President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar in his welcome speech briefed the Minister about the issues pertaining to the industries and also on the development of the city. A memorandum in this regard was submitted to the Minister. KCCI Vice-President, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Hon. Verma, Minister of State (MoS), for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India at Jageshwara, Uttarakhand. 23-07-2025–11.00 a. m.–A delegation from KCCI led by President Shri Anand G. Pai, Vice President Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Chairman of the GST Sub-Committee, CA Keshava N Ballakuraya, Sub-Committee Member and Former Treasurer of KCCI, Shri Ganesh Bhat and Sub-Committee Member, Shri Abdul Khader Iddya, met senior officials of the Commercial Taxes Department in Mangaluru. The delegation held discussions with Shri Kumara V., Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Administration), Mangaluru, and Shri Lakshmipathi N Naik, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement), Mangalore, to address the recent GST notices issued to small traders and vendors by the State GST Department in various parts of Karnataka. The meeting was convened to convey the growing concerns of small businesses and street vendors in the region, particularly regarding the use of UPI transaction data as the basis for issuing such notices.

  4.00 p. m.–Shree Devi Institute of Technology, Kenjar, Mangaluru signs an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KCCI as part of Industrial-Academia interconnect initiative. 06-08-2025–10.30 a. m.–The golden jubilee celebration of the Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Union (DKWJU) was celebrated at Townhall, Mangaluru. Former chief minister of Karnataka, Shri D V Sadananda Gowda inaugurated the golden jubilee event and also opened a photo exhibition. Dignitaries unveiled the Madhyama Suvarna Sambhrama souvenir, which was released by former Member of Parliament, D.K Dist., Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel. MLAs Shri Vedavyas Kamath and Dr. Bharath Y. Shetty and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai was one of the special invitees at the event.

07-08-2025–3.30 p. m.–The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Mangaluru and Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, in association with Kanara Industries Association (KIA) and District Small Industries Association Mangalore (DSIAM), jointly organized an Awareness Programme on SPREE 2025 (Scheme to Promote Registration of Employers and Employees) and ESIC Schemes & Benefits at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Vijayananth A.T, Joint Director, ESIC, SRO, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai presented the welcome address. Faculty & students from School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Bhopal, (Urban & Regional Planning) shared their preliminary insights on Mangaluru’s infrastructure, Urban planning and sought KCCI’s perspectives on the city’s future.
