CHAMBER AT WORK : DECEMBER 2025 – JANUARY 2026

12-12-2025–10.30 a. m.–Srinivas University – Institute of Management and Commerce and the Institute of Port, Shipping and Logistics Management, Department of MBA, Mangaluru, in association with Maaref University of Applied Sciences, Syria, organized a two-day International Conference on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Social Transformation in the Digital Era (ICIESD) at the university campus.          Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President of KCCI, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr. Venkatesh Amin, Dean, along with other dignitaries, faculty members, and participants, were present at the inaugural session.

 

11.00 a. m.–The Governing Board Meeting of Karnataka (Govt.) Polytechnic (Autonomous), Mangaluru, was held at the institution’s Seminar Hall. Shri Ravindra M. Keni, Dean (Academic), delivered the welcome address.                      Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President of KCCI, attended the meeting. Shri Prasanna H., IAS, Director, DTE, Bengaluru, and Chairman of the Governing Board, delivered the Presidential address. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Narayanaswamy R., Associate Dean (Academic).

 

04.00 p. m.–KCCI organized an awareness session on the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme at the KCCI Meeting Hall. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, delivered the welcome address. Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President, KCCI, introduced the Chief Guest and the speaker to the audience.

Smt. Dhanalakshmi D. N., Assistant Director of Agriculture (HQ), Office of the Joint Director of Agriculture, Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru, was the Chief Guest and presented the introductory remarks on the scheme. The session was conducted by Dr. A. A. Fazal, Food Scientist and Retired Professor, and District Resource Person (Dakshina Kannada), who also briefed the participants on the Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the National Livestock Mission (NLM).

Entrepreneurs and budding entrepreneurs actively participated in the programme. Aruna Industries sponsored the event. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary, KCCI

 

13-12-2025–06.30 p. m.–Rifah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mangalore Chapter organized Business Insights 2.0, an exclusive gathering of entrepreneurs, innovators & business leaders at A.J. Grand Hotel, Mangaluru. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

 

16-12-2025–11.00 a. m.–Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, called on Shri Gokul Das Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru, at the District Industries Centre to discuss the availability of land in Dakshina Kannada district for the establishment of new industries. Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President, KCCI, and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary, KCCI, were also present during the meeting.

 

03.00 p. m.–Entrepreneurship Development Program, MSME & Startup Boot Camp 2025 was organized by Nitte Institute of Professional Education at NIPE Auditorium, Mangaluru. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President was one of the Chief Guests at the event. The other Chief Guests were Prof. Dr. Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President (Technical Education), Nitte (Deemed to be University), Shri Niranjan Kumar, Senior Regional Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Regional Office, Mangaluru and Dr. Raghvendra Holla, Chairman, Swastika National Business School, Mangaluru.

 

7.00 p. m.–Gala Christmas 2025 Sparkle was celebrated by Rachana, Catholic Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mangaluru at Eden Club, Mangaluru. The Guest of Honour at the event was Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI.           Shri Roy Castelino, President, Rachana and dignitaries were present on the occasion. Shri Vincent Cutina, Director – KCCI was also present at the event.

 

17-12-2025–09.30 a. m.–Melkar Women’s PU and Degree College, Bantwal celebrated their 17th Annual Day – Fusion 2025 and Graduation Day at their college premises. The event was inaugurated by Shri Asif Mohammed, Architect, The AM Studio. The Chief Guests on the occasion were Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI and Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Director – KCCI. The Guests of Honour on the occasion was Shri B.A. Nazeer, Director – KCCI and correspondent, Al- Badriya Educational Association.

 

2.00 p. m.–KCCI organized a seminar on GST Reforms 2.0 – Changes in GSTR-9 Filing and Other Recent Changes in GST at the KCCI Meeting Hall, Mangaluru. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, delivered the welcome address and introduced the speakers to the audience. CA Keshava N. Ballakuraya, Chairman, GST Sub-Committee, KCCI, addressed the members on the relevance of the seminar. The session was presented by CA Sabana and CA Shraddha Sanghvi, Partners, Ballakuraya & Associates. CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Honorary Treasurer, KCCI, was present on the dais. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary, KCCI. Tally was the event sponsor. Business owners, accountants, and staff members of educational institutions participated in the programme.

 

19-12-2025–07.30 a. m.–On the occasion of the 60th death anniversary of                  Late Shri Ullal Srinivas Mallya, the visionary of Mangaluru and Co-Founder of KCCI, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, garlanded his bust at Padil, Mangaluru. Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary, KCCI, and CA Nandagopal Shenoy, Director, KCCI, and President of World Konkani Kendra, Mangaluru, also paid floral tributes by garlanding the bust. Members of various associations were present on the occasion.

 

10.30 a. m.–KCCI hosted the State level GST Consultative Committee Meeting, conducted by DGSTO, Mangaluru Division at KCCI Meeting Hall, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Shri Kumara V, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Admin). Also present in the meeting were Shri Lakshapathi Narayana Naik, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement), Shri Sanjay Balipa, Asst. Commissioner, Head Quarters, GST and Shri R M Gogery, Assistant commissioner, Appeals. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI welcomed the delegates for the meeting. CA Keshava N Ballakuraya, Chairman, GST sub-committee – KCCI, Shri Ganesh Bhat, member of GST sub-committee of KCCI and other members were present in the meeting. Shri Kumara, addressed to various queries related to GST. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks by Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary – KCCI.

 

23-12-2025–09.00 a. m.–KCCI and the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mangaluru Chapter, jointly organized a one-day seminar on “Understanding the Labour Codes and Its Implications – Practical Insights to Transition from the Old Labour Laws to the New Labour Codes” at The Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. The seminar was inaugurated by Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada District, in the presence of Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI; Shri Prabhoda K. S., Chairman, NIPM – Mangaluru Chapter; and the speakers for the event, Shri S. K. Gupta, Solicitor and Advocate, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, and Shri Govindaraju N. S., author and labour law and industry expert. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from participants across various industries and professions, including manufacturing and service sectors, advocates, chartered accountants, and labour law consultants. Other KCCI office-bearers present at the event included Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President; CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Honorary Treasurer; Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary; and Shri B. A. Nazeer, Director, KCCI. The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Shri Santhosh K., Secretary, NIPM – Mangaluru Chapter.

 

03.30 p. m.–The 19th Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee (PTFC) and Sectoral Meeting was held virtually by the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Ms. P. Vinitha Sekhar, Commissioner of Customs, Mangaluru. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI; CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Honorary Treasurer, KCCI; and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira, Honorary Secretary, KCCI, attended the meeting.

 

29-12-2025–11.00 a. m.–A send-off ceremony was organized in honour of the outgoing Accountant, Shri Francis Salvadore Lobo, at the KCCI Conference Room. He was felicitated by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President, KCCI, and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Honorary Secretary, KCCI. 01-01-2026–4.00 p. m.–Department of Tourism conducted the Dakshina Kannada District Tourism Development committee meeting chaired by Shri Darshan H V, IAS at Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner office, Mangaluru. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI attended the meeting.

 

03-01-2026–9.15 a.m.–Namma Kudla in association with St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru celebrated the 350th episode of Business Tonic at Fr. L. F. Rasquinha Hall of the college. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat, MD & CEO, Karnataka Bank.  Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI was one of the Chief Guests on the occasion.

 

05-01-2026–11.00 a. m.

 

–A hybrid meeting was held at the Board Room of NMPA to discuss a proposal by the Central Warehousing Corporation for establishing a Container Freight Station in the vicinity of the port. The meeting also focused on highlighting issues, if any, faced by the container trade.       Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, attended the meeting virtually. Representing KCCI in person were                 CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Honorary Treasurer, KCCI, and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira, Honorary Secretary, KCCI.

 

06-01-2026–9.00 a. m.–36th BoG Meeting followed by 25th Annual General Meeting of NITK-STEP (National Institute of Technology Karnataka – Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park) was held at STEP Board Room, Surathkal.  Proposal for construction and renovation activities was discussed in the meeting. 09-01-2026–03.00 p. m.–20th Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee (PTFC) meeting and Sectoral meeting was held virtually by the office of Commissioner of Customs, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Ms. P. Vinitha Sekhar, Commissioner of Customs, Mangaluru. The meeting was attended by Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira, Hon. Secretary – KCCI.

 

10-01-2026–10.30 a. m.–Coastal Karnataka Tourism Conclave was held at The Avatar Hotel, Mangaluru. Shri Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri D.K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri U.T. Khader, Speaker, Shri Dinesh Gundu Rao, District in-charge Minister, Captain Brijesh Chowta and Shri Kota Srinivas Poojary, MPs of D.K and Udupi Districts, Shri Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion. KCCI was represented by Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President – KCCI and Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President – KCCI.

 

15-01-2026–3:00 p. m.–The Office of the Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada, in association with the Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, organized a Roundtable Discussion titled “West Coast India to West Asia – Charting a Mangaluru–Israel Trade Roadmap” at the KCCI Meeting Hall, Bunder, Mangaluru. The Chief Guests for the programme were Ms. Orli Weitzman, Consul General of Israel in Bengaluru (Consular Jurisdiction over Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the Union Territory of Puducherry), and Captain Brijesh Chowta, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada. The Guest of Honour was Shri D. Vedavyas Kamath, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly, Mangaluru South. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President of KCCI presented the welcome address. 18-11-2025–10.15 a. m.–Karnataka State Pollution Control Board celebrated their Golden Jubilee -2025 at ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru. Conference on Circular Economy and Sustainability was held during the occasion. The event was inaugurated by Shri D. K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Major and Medium Irrigation, Govt. of Karnataka in the presence of other dignitaries.  Shri B. A. Nazeer, KCCI Director, attended the event.
11.30 a. m.–Stakeholders Consultation Meeting for Final Location Survey for Various Corridors under South Western Railway was held virtually. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, attended the meeting.
4.00 p. m.–KCCI organized a seminar on the Awareness Program on Formation of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in compliance with the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013 at the KCCI Meeting Hall, Mangaluru. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI delivered the welcome address. Shri Shamlal Yermal, Chairman of Labour Sub-committee of KCCI addressed the members on the relevance of the topic.

19-11-2025–4.30 p. m.–The Eighth Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2025-26 and the Second Meeting of the Committee was convened at the Board room of KCCI. Shri P. B. 25-11-2025–10.00 a. m.–Mangalore Entrepreneurs Day Ideation ’25 was organized by Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) for their students at their MSNIM Besant Campus, Mangaluru. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI. The event was presided by Shri Manel Annappa Nayak, President, Women’s National Education Society (WNES). The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Amith Ramachandra, Director, KCCI. The event was presided by Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., Principal of the college. Various other dignitaries were also present on stage. The students of MBA participated in the event.
28-11-2025–9.30 a. m.–International Conference on Technology for Sustainable Management Practices (ICTSMP) was organized by the Dept. of Business Administration, St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru. Shri Ajay Prabhu Karkala, Director, KCCI was the Chief Guest and the keynote speaker. Other speakers for the event were, Shri Bharath Kumar, Chief Implementation Officer, Eton Solutions LP, USA and Shri Charanjay Singoor, Senior Director, Platform Development, MetriStream, Bengaluru.

Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary, CA Keshava N. Ballakuraya, Chairman of the Indirect Tax Committee of KCCI, Shri M. Ganesh Bhat and Shri Abdul Khader Iddya, members of the sub committee met them. The delegation requested that the State GST Consultative Committee Meeting be convened during December 2025 at the KCCI premises.

The event was inaugurated by Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament (Dakshina Kannada Dist.). Ln. Kudupi Aravind Shenoy, Lion District Governor 317D and Shri D. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru (South) were the Chief Guests on the occasion. Shri Sunil Subramaniam, Ex MD & CEO of Sundaram Mutual Funds, CEO & Founder of Sense & Simplicity was the keynote Speaker. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Capt. 25-10-2025–10.00 a. m.–KCCI in collaboration with CREDAI Mangalore and Section Infin-8 Foundation (SI-8) organized an Industry Conclave on Carbon Credits & Green Finance 2025 – Driving Sustainability through Innovation and Collaboration at KCCI Meeting Hall, Mangaluru.

Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President delivered the welcome address. Shri Vinod A. R. Pinto, President, CREDAI Mangalore also addressed the gathering on the significance of the topic.   4.00 p. m.–Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2025, ‘Vigilance : Our Shared Responsibility” – Grievance Redressal Camp With Trade and Industrial Association  was organized by Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, Mangaluru Central Excise & Central Tax Commissionerate at Trade Centre Building, Mangaluru. 01-11-2025–9.00 a. m.–The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) was conferred the prestigious District Rajyotsava Award. The award was presented to Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President by Shri Ivan D’Souza, Member of Legislative Council (MLC), Karnataka at Nehru Maidan, Mangaluru. This symbolic recognition is another of the many feathers in the cap of the Chamber and is dedicated to the vision and selfless service of our past presidents, stalwarts, directors, members and staff who have collectively shaped the Chamber’s journey over the years and its role in advancing the region’s development.

 

06-11-2025–3.00 p. m.–Evolve, the women entrepreneurs’ association, organized an engaging panel discussion on the theme “Empowerment – Myth or Reality?” at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru. The panel featured several distinguished participants, including          Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Director of KCCI and Head of Elevate Brand Mangaluru, a Focus Area initiative of KCCI; Ms. Rahasya Pai Maroor, Chairperson of the Women Entrepreneurs Sub-committee of KCCI; and Ms. Salome Lobo, Associate Editor of the Journal of KCCI, among others.

11-11-2025–11.00 a. m.–Airport  Users’  Consultation  Committee meeting for Mangaluru International Airport was held virtually to discuss on proposed capital expenditure projects at Mangaluru International Airport. 13-11-2025–12 noon–The First Meeting of the Labour Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2025-26 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI.   2.30 p. m.–New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Stadium, Mangaluru. The event was presided over by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, in the august presence of Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India.

Vaidya, Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport, Government of Karnataka; Capt. 03-09-2025–9.30 a. m.–Final Pitch Day – Exploring Entrepreneurship Program was organized by Canara Engineering College at their Seminar Hall 2, Mangaluru. 14 shortlisted student teams presented their start-up ideas before the expert jury members arranged by SI8. The jury members on the occasion were Shri Vishwas US, Chairman, Start-up Sub-Committee of KCCI and Founder Director, Section Infin-8 Foundation (SI-8), Shri Puneeth Rai, Incubation Manager, Atal Incubation Centre, Nitte and Shri Ajay Prabhu Karkala, Director, KCCI and Managing Director of KVP Business Solutions, Mangaluru. 06-09-2025–11:00 a. m.–KCCI Director and Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association of India (CLFMA) Hon. Secretary, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed virtually participated in the Stakeholders Consultation Meeting under the Informal Group of Ministers (IGoM) on Social, Welfare and Security Sectors for the Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Fisheries Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAHD) held in hybrid mode to invite suggestions on the four pillars of the IGoM (legislative, policy, institutional, and process reforms) for the fisheries sector. The Meeting was chaired by Union Minister, MoFAHD and Panchayati Raj, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh. Secretary, Department of Fisheries (DoF) Shri Abhilaksh Likhi steered the consultation and feedback session aimed at identifying the challenges and reforms for enhancing production, productivity and exports promotion in the fisheries sector in line with the vision of becoming Viksit Bharat by 2047. Shri Nissar proposed to the Government that Fish Soluble Paste, a key input in the Fish Feed Industry, should be exempted from GST (0%).

 

08-09-2025 6.30 p. m.–KCCI Vice-President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar attended an exclusive round table hosted by Vertex Managed Workspace in honour of Shri John Maier, Chief Executive Officer Bose Professional, spotlighted Mangaluru’s emergence as a promising technology hub held at Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru. The event brought together industry leaders, academics, and government representatives to explore the city’s potential for innovation and enterprise. Shri Darshan H. V., IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, presided over the session.

 

09-09-2025–1.00 p. m. An interactive session was organised at Wrkwrk, Mangaluru to enlighten the Delegates from Nagpur,   Shri Shashikant Chaudhary of Happy Eaters.  and Retd. Lt. Cdr. Yogesh Bhavsar from GAME on the initiatives taken by various organizations in Mangaluru for the overall growth of the Region. Also insights pertaining to the development of the region of the visiting delegates were discussed. Delegates from Other trade bodies, education institutions, trade and IT fraternity were present. The chamber was represented by its vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar.

–KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai along with delegates from various associations, participated in a discussion organized by the newspaper Vijaya Karnataka at their Mangaluru office. The session focused on the topic ‘Roads and Infrastructure in Mangaluru’ to be featured on the occasion of Engineers’ Day.

 

  10.30 a. m.–KCCI Vice-President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, participated in the Press Meet organized by the Branch MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Mangaluru. The meet was held to brief the media about the upcoming Vendor Development Programme & Industrial Exhibition – MSME Expo 2025, scheduled on 18th and 19th September 2025 at Mini Town Hall, Mangaluru. The event is being jointly organized by the Ministry of MSME, KCCI, District Industries Centre (DIC), and Kanara Industries Association (KIA).

 

  4.00 p. m.–Adani Airports – Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) hosted The Aero Meet 2025 at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru. Shri Mukesh Nankani, Chief Administrative Officer, MIA presented the Welcome address. Shri Anand G.  Pai, KCCI President, Smt. Vathika Pai – Past President of KCCI, and other delegates participated in the panel discussion on the topics, ‘Magic of Air Travel’ and ‘Magic of Mangaluru’.             Ms. M. Athmika Amin, KCCI Director and Head of Elevate Brand Mangaluru, Focus Area of KCCI, addressed the gathering on KCCI’s role in elevating brand Mangaluru. The event was attended by Shri P.B. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, Shri B.V. 25-09-2025–11.00 a. m.–The 166th Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting was held at Valluvanad Hall, Divisional Office, Palakkad.  The meeting was chaired by Shri Madhukar Roat,  Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Palakkad Division. Shri M. Ahmed Bawa, the nominated member from KCCI representing DRUCC attended the meeting and put forward key suggestions concerning railway services and passenger amenities.

 

27-09-2025–4.30 p. m.–85th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI was held at the Meeting Hall of KCCI with the participation of members. Outgoing President, Shri Anand G. Pai addressed the members.

–Dr. K. U. Mada, a distinguished member of the Editorial Board KCCI, officially launched his latest book titled “Spirit of Enterprise – Basic Moving Force Behind Life”. The book was formally released by the President, Shri Anand G Pai, in the presence of Vice-President Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Treasurer CA Abdur Rahman Musba, and Hon. Secretaries Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai. The book highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit and intellectual contributions of Dr. Mada to the business community.

 

  6.00 p. m.–Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar was elected as the new President of KCCI at the conclusion of 85th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar is a partner at the family business, M/s P. B. Abdul Hameed & Sons, an established entity engaged in the trading of spices and hill produce.

 

He holds a B.E. in Biotechnology from NMAMIT, Nitte, and went on to pursue his MBA in Marketing and Finance from Alliance Business Academy, Bengaluru. He has also completed the e-Management Development Certification Programme in Investment Banking from IIM Kozhikode.

 

Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar was elected as the Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba as the Honorary Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira were elected as Honorary Secretaries. Shri B. A. Nazeer, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Shri Amith Ramachandra, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Shri Ashith B. 09-10-2025–9.30 a. m.–A two days’ workshop on ‘Technology Clinic’ was organized by MSME, Government of Karnataka, in association with Kanara Industries Association (KIA), Mangalore at C N Shetty Convention Hall, KIA, Mangaluru. Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Shri B.A. Nazeer, KCCI Director and Chairman of Energy, Power, Banking, Finance and MSME, Sub-committee of KCCI and other dignitaries were the Chief Guests on the occasion.

Ahmed Mudassar called on the Chairman of New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA),          Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju at his office and submitted an memorandum for extension for rebate on vessel-related charges (VRC) for Container Vessels. 10-10-2025–3.00 p. m.–Shri Dinesh Gundu Rao, District In-charge Minister and also Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka had an interactive meeting with the members of KCCI at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. KCCI President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar in his welcome speech briefed the Minister about the issues pertaining to the industries and also on the development of the city. A memorandum in this regard was submitted to the Minister. KCCI Vice-President, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Hon. Secretaries, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira were present on stage. KCCI Directors, Past Presidents, Sub-committee Chairmen, Office bearers of various affiliated bodies of KCCI and other members were present on the occasion.

 

KCCI Director and Head of the Focus Area on Elevate Brand Mangaluru, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, apprised the Minister about KCCI’s Brand Mangaluru initiative and the series of podcasts highlighting the region’s business prosperity and promoting it to a global audience.

14-10-2025–9.00 a. m.–Incubation Awareness Workshop under the RAMP scheme, raising and accelerating MSME performance was organized by Govt. of Karnataka – Department of Industries and Commerce MSME Directorate, KCTU & KSMCA in association with District Industries Centre – Dakshina Kannada, MSME – Development & Facilitation office, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and Centre for Entrepreneurship Opportunities and Learning (CEOL) Incubation Centre, Mangaluru at Fr. 15-10-2025–11.00 a. m.–A Stake Holders meeting was held to discuss on proposed City Master Development Plan III at the office of Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Mangaluru. 23-07-2025–11.00 a. m.–A delegation from KCCI led by President Shri Anand G. Pai, Vice President Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Chairman of the GST Sub-Committee, CA Keshava N Ballakuraya, Sub-Committee Member and Former Treasurer of KCCI, Shri Ganesh Bhat and Sub-Committee Member, Shri Abdul Khader Iddya, met senior officials of the Commercial Taxes Department in Mangaluru. The delegation held discussions with Shri Kumara V., Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Administration), Mangaluru, and Shri Lakshmipathi N Naik, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement), Mangalore, to address the recent GST notices issued to small traders and vendors by the State GST Department in various parts of Karnataka. The meeting was convened to convey the growing concerns of small businesses and street vendors in the region, particularly regarding the use of UPI transaction data as the basis for issuing such notices.

06-08-2025–10.30 a. m.–The golden jubilee celebration of the Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Union (DKWJU) was celebrated at Townhall, Mangaluru. Former chief minister of Karnataka, Shri D V Sadananda Gowda inaugurated the golden jubilee event and also opened a photo exhibition. Dignitaries unveiled the Madhyama Suvarna Sambhrama souvenir, which was released by former Member of Parliament, D.K Dist., Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel. MLAs Shri Vedavyas Kamath and Dr. Bharath Y. Shetty and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai was one of the special invitees at the event.

07-08-2025–3.30 p. m.–The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Mangaluru and Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, in association with Kanara Industries Association (KIA) and District Small Industries Association Mangalore (DSIAM), jointly organized an Awareness Programme on SPREE 2025 (Scheme to Promote Registration of Employers and Employees) and ESIC Schemes & Benefits at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Vijayananth A.T, Joint Director, ESIC, SRO, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai presented the welcome address. Faculty & students from School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Bhopal, (Urban & Regional Planning) shared their preliminary insights on Mangaluru’s infrastructure, Urban planning and sought KCCI’s perspectives on the city’s future. 08-04-2025–11.45 a. m.Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Director, KCCI participated virtually in Government of India’s Outreach Programme with Fish and Shrimp Farmers and Seafood Exporters. The meeting was co-chaired by Shri Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary (Inland Fisheries), Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, and Ms. Neetu Prasad, Joint Secretary (Marine Fisheries), Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India. The meeting was convened to deliberate on the impact of the reciprocal tariff imposed by the United States and to discuss potential relief measures.  A detailed discussion was held on the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana (PMMKSSY), a Central Sector Sub-Scheme under PMMSY & Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Fund (FIDF).   The deliberations focused on both immediate relief and long-term strategies to support the aquaculture sector.

An interactive session on strengthening regional co-operation in the Livestock and Poultry sectors, the CLFMA of India, in association with the Sri Lanka Veterinary Association (SLVA) and the World Poultry Science Association (WPSA), Sri Lanka Branch was hosted at Colombo, SRI LANKA.  KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed participated in the event.

Vice-President briefed about Brand Mangaluru, one of the key focus areas of KCCI for the year. 09-07-2025–1.00 p. m.–A Peace Meeting was convened at the Netravati Hall of the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, chaired by the Hon’ble Home Minister of Karnataka, Shri G. Parameshwara. Distinguished dignitaries present on the dais included District In-charge Minister, Shri Dinesh Gundu Rao, Member of Parliament, Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Darshan H.V., among others. The meeting brought together political leaders, community representatives, and heads of various organisations for a meaningful dialogue aimed at restoring and strengthening communal harmony in the region. On behalf of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Vice-President Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar addressed the gathering. KCCI Chief Operating Officer Shri Mytreya A. was also in attendance.
