On occasion of 62nd National Maritime Day Celebration and the 75th Anniversary of Director General of Shipping, Mumbai, KCCI Director and Chairman of EXIM Sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeria being part of the committee together with the Dy. Conservator of New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), Capt. Manoj Joshi and MMD Surveyor in charge Mangaluru, Shri Bodh Raj  met the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Siddaramaiah at his residence in Bengaluru on 2nd April  and the Governor of Karnataka, His Excellency Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot  at Raj Bhavan, Bengaluru on 3rd April, for the National Maritime Day Flag pinning on their wearing apparel.

Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI), Sub-committee Chairman of District Coordination, Shri Devi Prasad Shetty along with Industry Sub-committee Chairman, Shri N. Satish met KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai at his Bharath Beedi Works Pvt. Ltd. office in Mangaluru and invited him for the MSME Conclave 2025 organized by FKCCI, Kassia and Peenya Industries Association on May 30th – 31st & Jun 1, 2025. They also requested that all members of KCCI attend the event. KCCI Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A was also present in the meeting.
04-04-2025 3.30 p. m. JSW team hosted the Board of Directors of KCCI at their office in New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), Mangaluru. Shri L. Ramanathan Unit Head and Vice President, JSW delivered the welcome address and briefed about the port activities. Shri Nownith Kumar – Consultant briefed about development of NH 75 roads and also about the ports activities. Shri Dilip Shetty, General Manager – Business Development addressed the members about JSW progress in revenue generation and the future plans. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai appreciated the efforts of JSW in monitoring the developments of NH 75 and also coordinating with the NH Project Directors in ensuring timely completion of the road repairs. KCCI delegates were taken through the port and briefed about container terminal and ships movements from the port.  Other team members of JSW were also present on the occasion.
06-04-2025 11.00 a. m. Bliss Tuff, toughened glass manufacturers had grand opening of their shop in Mangaluru. The event was inaugurated by lightening the lamp by KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai, Managing Director of Bharath Auto Cars, Shri Sudhir M. Pai, Civil Engineer of Alva Associates, Shri K.N. Alva. The host, Shri and Smt. Dheeraj Shetty and Dhanush Shetty welcomed the guests.
07-04-2025 09.30 a. m. Maroor Enterprises, authorised distributors for Exide Industries Limited opened their new outlet at Pumpwell, Mangaluru. The outlet was inaugurated by KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai. Representatives of the Maroor Group, including Shri Rammohan Pai Maroor (Past President, KCCI), Shri Ajith Pai Maroor, Ms. Rahasya Pai Maroor (Chairperson of Women Entrepreneurs sub-committee of KCCI), Shri Anirudh Pai Maroor and Shri Sagar Rai, Operations Manager, Maroor Enterprises, were present at the function.
3.30 p. m. Renewal of MoU signing ceremony between P.A. First Grade College, Mangaluru and KCCI was held at the Conference room of KCCI. This was with effect from 9th January, 2025. The MoU was signed by KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai and the Principal of P.A. First Grade College, Dr. Surfraz J. Hasim. Present on the occasion were KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. 09-04-2025 7.00 p. m. The First Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2025-26 and the Seventh Meeting of the new Committee was convened at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. Shri Anand G Pai, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
11-04-2025 10.00 a. m New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) organized a workshop on marine adversities at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Mangaluru.  Shri AV Ramana, Chairman, NMPA, presided over the event. The workshop was inaugurated by Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada District. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A attended the event.
21-04-2025 11.00 a. m. A meeting was held to discuss the Regional Disparities in Development in Karnataka State at Netravati Hall, Zilla Panchayat office, Mangaluru. Shri M.H. Suryanarayana, a member of the High Power Committee for Regional Imbalance Remediation, held a long discussion with the concerned departmental officials and representatives of various organisations on regional imbalance. Shri Mullai Muhilan MP IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada District, Dr. Anand K. Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer and other dignitaries also addressed the audience. Members of various associations attended this meeting. KCCI was represented by Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A.
5.00 p. m. The Governing Body meeting of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Opportunities & Learning (CEOL) for the year 2024-25 was held at the Conference Hall of CEOL. The meeting was Chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, DK District, Mangaluru (Chairman – CEOL), Shri Mullai Muhilan M.P. KCCI representative member, Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and other special invitees for the meeting, Hon. Secretary, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Directors, Shri Ashit Hegde and Shri Ajay Prabhu and Chairman of KCCI Alternative Dispute Centre, Prof. CA. Lional Aranha.
28-04-2025 3.00 p. m. The Avatar Hotel and Aerodynamiks Academy, Mangaluru launched ‘Art of Hospitality’, an exclusive course crafted to upskill and shape the future of hospitality professionals at The Avatar Hotel & Convention, Mangaluru. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Mullai Muhilan MP, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, D.K Dist., Mangaluru. The Guests of Honour for the event were, Shri Vishal Hegde, Pro-Chancellor, NITTE University, Shri Anand G Pai, President-KCCI and Shri Vivek Alva, Managing Trustee, Alva’s Education Trust.

QCI Gunvatta Yatra – An Awareness Program on Zero Effect Zero Defect (ZED) & LEAN Certifications and its Benefits was jointly organized by KCCI and Quality Council of India (QCI) at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai presented the welcome address. KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar introduced the speakers to the audience. The distinguished speakers for the event were, Ms. Jyothi Krishna, Empanelled ZED Expert – QCI who spoke on ZED and LEAN certifications and Shri Venugopal, Advisor, NBQP – QCI addressed the members on QCI Gunvatta Yatra & QCI Activities. Members from various industries actively participated in the event. The vote of thanks was rendered by Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor. Also present on stage, Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba.
4.30 p. m. The 83rd MSEZL Board meeting was held in New Delhi in hybrid mode. The meeting was chaired by Shri Vivek C. Tongaonkar, Chairman, MSEZL and Director (Finance) ONGC. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai attended the meeting virtually.
05-05-2025 3.00 p. m. The Renewal of Memorandum of Understanding was signed between KCCI and Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, Udupi District at the Board Room of the college. The MoU was exchanged between KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai and SMVITM Principal, Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat. KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar and Chief Operating Officer – KCCI, Shri Mytreya A were also present on the occasion. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shri Sode Vadiraja Matha Educational Institutions (SVMET), Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, Placement & Administrative Officer – MBA, SMVITM, Ms. Vidya Bhat and Heads of various departments from the college were present at the event. The renewed MoU aims to further strengthen the collaborative efforts between industry and academia. The partnership focuses on facilitating industrial visits, internship opportunities, expert guest lectures, and enhanced placement support for the students of SMVITM. This renewed engagement reflects a shared commitment to equipping students with practical industry exposure and bridging the gap between academic learning and professional expectations.

17-05-2025 4:00 p. m. An interactive meeting on the theme “Strengthening the Local Hospitality of our Coast” was held with homestay owners, service apartment proprietors, and Bread & Breakfast stakeholders at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Vice-President of KCCI, delivered the welcome address. Opening remarks were made by Ms. Athmika Amin, Director of KCCI and Chairperson of the Focus Area “Elevate Brand Mangaluru.” Shri Yathish Baikampady, Former CEO of the Beach Tourism Development Project, addressed the gathering, offering insights on the subject and responding to concerns raised by homestay owners. KCCI Directors Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed and Shri Sujir Prasad Nayak, along with Past President Shri Isaac Vas, were also present. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Honorary Secretary of KCCI, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai.
20-05-2025 5.30 p. m. The first meeting of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Mangaluru District Council 2025-26 was held at the Banquet Hall of Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai attended the meeting.
22-05-2025 3.00 p. m. The meeting was called by the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) at their Conference Room in Baikampady, Mangaluru to train the members on obtaining 35B through online mode. The meeting was chaired by APMC Secretary, Shri CH Mohan. KCCI was represented by its Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar.
5.00 p. m. Coastal Karnataka Sailing Club organized a meeting at Credai office to discuss and formalize the establishment of Dakshina Kannada District Sailing Association. Presentation on Sailing Club was done by Shri Rohan,  Treasurer, Coastal Karnataka Sailing Club. Veteran sailors from the club, Shri Henry Britto and Shri Praveen also addressed the members present in the meeting. Members of various associations attended the meeting. 7.00 p. m. The Second Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2025-26 and the Eighth Meeting of the new Committee was convened at Mangalore Club, Mangaluru. Shri Anand G Pai, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
26-05-2025 10.30 a. m. High Court Peeta Horata Samiti and Lawyers Association jointly organized a meeting in emphasising the government in setting up of the High Court Bench in Mangaluru at Hotel Sea View, Mangaluru. Veteran advocate Shri BD Hiremath, who played a key role in the movement to establish a High Court bench in Hubballi-Dharwad attended the meeting and addressed the gathering. Mangaluru Bar Association President, Shri H. V. Raghavendra, Director, High Court Peeta Horata Samiti and MLC, Shri Ivan D’Souza, Secretary of Mangaluru Bar Association, Shri Shridhar H and other dignitaries from the Bar Association were present.  Members of various associations participated in the meeting. KCCI was represented by its President, Shri Anand G Pai and Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar.
27-05-2025 10.00 a. m. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between KCCI and Yenepoya Institute of Technology (YIT), Moodabidri at their campus as part of Industry-Academia Interconnect. MoU was exchanged between Shri Anand G Pai., KCCI President and Dr. Prabhakar B.K., Vice-Principal, YIT.  Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI Vice-President, Shri B.A. Nazeer, Director – KCCI and Shri Mytreya A., Chief Operating Officer – KCCI, were present on the occasion. KCCI President also unveiled the college magazine, ‘YENGINEER 2024’, a platform celebrating innovation, literacy and technical accomplishments. Other dignitaries from the college were, Shri Mohammed Shahid, Campus Administrative Officer, Prof. Rohit A.R, Skill Development Officer, Prof. Rajkiran Shetty, Training & Placement Officer, IQAC Coordinator, Heads of all departments and student startup & innovation team.

18-03-2025 11.30 a. m. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai submitted a memorandum to Shri Ravichandra Naik, Commissioner, Mangaluru City Corporation at his office about the concerns regarding the parking of vehicles at the open parking area outside KCCI annex and proposed solutions for the same. KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A was also present in the meeting.
3.30 p. m. CNN News18 channel aired a live interview with KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai, on March 18, 2025, as part of the ‘Rising Mangaluru’ theme. The discussion focused on the region’s development, including opportunities for attracting investments, tourism, cleanliness, safety, CSR, and other aspects. President elaborated on KCCI’s role in promoting trade and commerce in the region.

An exchange of expression of interest (EOI) between Germany- based ETAG Energietechnik and Mangaluru Special Economic Zone Limited (MSEZ) to set up its production facilities in Mangaluru was held at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru.  The EOI was signed in the presence of ETAG Energietechnik Chairman Shri Prakash Pereira & CEO Ms Jyothi Pereira and MSEZ officials including CEO Shri Suryanarayana, CFO Shri Ramesh Kumar and  CA Nitin J. CEO briefed about free skill training under Yuva Nidhi Plus Scheme for the beneficiaries of Yuva Nidhi programme.

4.30 p. m. Govt. of Karnataka hosted the Global Investors’ Meet: Invest Karnataka 2025, from February 12th to 14th, 2025. The inauguration was held on February 11th, 2025 at the iconic Bengaluru Palace. The theme for this year being, “Reimagining Growth”, embodies Karnataka’s vision to drive growth that is tech-driven, green, inclusive, and resilient, reflecting our state’s leadership in innovation and sustainable development.  KCCI Vice-President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar represented KCCI for the inaugural event and also attended the session the next day.
12-02-2025 5.30 p. m. The First Meeting of the GST Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2024-25 was convened at the Conference Room of Volkswagen Showroom, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the GST sub-committee of KCCI, CA Keshava N. Ballakuraya. The meeting was attended by KCCI President, Shri Anand G. 13-02-2025 11.00 a. m. A State GST consultative meeting was held at Vanijya Therige Bhavan, Mangaluru. The meeting was attended by CA Keshava N. Ballakuraya, Chairman of the Indirect Tax Committee and KCCI Indirect Tax Committee members, Shri Ganesh Bhat and Shri Abdul Khader Iddya. A memorandum was submitted to the office on the grievances received from the KCCI members. The Joint Commissioners of GST, including Joint Commissioner (Admin) Shri Kumara V, Joint Commissioner of GST (Enforcement) Shri Lakshapathi Narayana Naik and Joint Commissioner (Appeal) Smt. Sulakshana S N were present in the meeting. Shri Kumara V responded positively to the concerns raised by KCCI representatives.

Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District., Mangaluru, Shri Mullai Muhilan MP highlighted the 150-200 year history of the complex, emphasizing that the event was a collective effort to showcase Mangaluru. The Dakshina Kannada district administration, in partnership with the tourism department, KCCI and other associations organized the event. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai and Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar attended the inaugural event. Several Directors of KCCI attended the event. The public gathered to see the Heritage building opened for viewing. Exhibitions, competitions for school and college students and musical evening were the attractions of the event.

Pai called representatives of various associations for a meeting to discuss on the land allotment of Jaiprakash Engineering and Steel Company Ltd (JESCO) which has been taken back from them in the recent court order and will be soon available for industries. Due to acute shortage of land available for the development of MSMEs/Logistic Park / IT park in our region, it was decided to collectively involve and approach the government to consult all the stakeholders in allocation of land. The meeting was attended by KCCI Vice President, Shri P. 13-01-2025 12 noon KCCI delegation, led by President Shri Anand G. Pai met Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, at Dharmasthala and submitted a memorandum requesting the restoration of a 10-kilometer stretch between Maranahalli and Addahole (NH 75), along with the release of emergency funds. The memorandum also urged the expedited completion of the four-laning project between B.C. Road and Sakleshpur. The delegation included Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. 13-11-2024 10.00 a. m. KCCI organized a seminar on various topics under GST at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai delivered the welcome address. The Chairman of GST Sub-committee of KCCI, CA Keshava N Ballakuraya addressed the members. Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar introduced the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour to the audience. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Kumara V., Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Admin), State Goods & Service Tax Department, Mangaluru. The Guest of Honour was Shri Lakshapathi Narayana Naik, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement), West Zone, Mangaluru who addressed the members. The three speakers for the session was introduced by KCCI Chief Operating Officer,                  Shri Mytreya A. Shri Mahesh N Bagil, Asst. The conclave featured insightful discussions, valuable networking, and an exclusive exhibition showcasing solutions and innovations from key industry players. KCCI Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba was one the panellists and KCCI Im. Past President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu was the moderator for one of the panel discussions. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai, Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Directors, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed and Shri B. A. Nazir attended the event.
4.30 p. m. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai called on the Member of Parliament (MP), Dakshina Kannada Dist., Capt. Brijesh Chowta at Circuit House, Mangaluru. President along with Hon. Secretaries, Shri Ashwin Pai Maoor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai and Director, Ms. Athmika Amin presented a memorandum to MP with regard to establishing a High Court bench in Mangaluru and also with regard to the road repair stretching from Maranahalli to Addahole falling under NH 75. KCCI Director and Head of Elevating Brand Mangaluru, the Focus area of KCCI, Ms Athmika Amin also presented to MP a proposal to showcase and advertise Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts to promote tourism and other activities benefiting the trade and commerce and employability in the region.

The AIC Nitte Incubation Center, in partnership with the Institution Innovation Council of Nitte Deemed to be University, launched Karavali Startup Programme 2024 at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru to inspire youth entrepreneurship and boost the Karavali region’s profile. Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada Dist. was the guest for the event who inaugurated the programme. 21-09-2024 11.00 a. m. Mangalore International Airport Ltd., (MIAL) hosted KCCI officials at their venue. Shri Mukesh Nankani, Chief Airport Officer, Mangaluru International Airport Ltd. (MIAL) and Shri Vipin Nair, HR Manager, MAIL welcomed CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, President, KCCI and Shri Anand G Pai, Vice President, KCCI and other accompanying KCCI delegates, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Secretary, KCCI, Shri B.A. Nazeer and Shri Vincent Cutina, Directors, KCCI and Shri Mytreya A, Chief Operating Officer, KCCI. The airport officials presented the road map of development projects of the airport including safety and attracting more travellers to and fro Mangaluru. The 65th National Symposium with the theme “Sustainable Livestock Sector: Threats, Challenges and Opportunities.” Was held by Compound Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) of India, an association of livestock industry held at Hotel Novotel, Goa. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed was elected as the Hon. Secretary. Union Minister, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Chairman of CLFMA India, Shri Suresh Deora and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
25-09-2024 3.00 p. m. 54th GST Council Meeting Recommendations & RCM Under GST was organized by Directorate General of Taxpayer Services (DGTS) Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs Bengaluru Zonal Unit, in association with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Kerala State Council, Kerala Merchants Chamber of Commerce (KMCC), Kerala, Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Association (KSCAA), Karnataka, Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCC&I), Kerala, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, Tumakuru District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TDCCI), Tumakuru. The distinguished speaker on the occasion was Shri Amar Kumar Sinha, I.R.S., Additional Director General, Directorate General of Taxpayer Services, Bengaluru Zonal Unit. 27-09-2024 4.00 p. m. 84th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI was held at the Meeting Hall of KCCI with the participation of members. Outgoing President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu addressed the members.
6.00 p. m. Shri Anand G. Pai was elected as the new President of KCCI at the conclusion of 84th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI. Shri Anand G. Pai is the Executive Director of M/s Bharath Beedi Works Private Limited, Mangalore. He started his Professional career through his family business and took charge of Strategic Planning and Diversification of Bharath Group. He completed schooling in Mangalore. He graduated as Industrial Production Engineer from Andrews University Michigan, U.S.A. and later pursued Masters in Software Engineering from the same University.

Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar was elected as the Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba as the Honorary Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai were elected as Honorary Secretaries. Shri B. A. Nazeer, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Shri Amith Ramachandra, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Shri Ashith B. Delegates from Mangalore Bar Association (R.) called on KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai at the Conference Room of KCCI and submitted a memorandum seeking KCCI support for setting up of the Bangalore High Court bench in Mangaluru, a long awaited need of the litigants of Mangaluru and other coastal region. Congress MLC, Shri Ivan D’Souza accompanied by the Mangalore Bar Association President, Shri H.V. Raghavendra felicitated Shri Anand G Pai on taking over as the new President of KCCI. KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Secretaries, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Pai, Chairman of KCCI Alternative Dispute Resolution, Sub-committee of KCCI, Prof. CA Lionel Aranha and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A were present at the meeting.
