The meeting, chaired by D. K. Shivakumar, Chief Minister of Karnataka focused on deliberating a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable tourism development along the Karnataka coast. Representatives of various trade and industry associations from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts participated in the discussions. KCCI was represented by Ms. M. | 4.30 p. m. | – | The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office, Mangaluru, organized a major outreach and incentive disbursement programme under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) at the KCCI Meeting Hall. The programme formed part of a nationwide initiative during which the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, virtually addressed beneficiaries across the country and disbursed incentives amounting to ₹2,400 crore to over 15 lakh beneficiaries. A large number of employers and employees from various organizations participated in the programme. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, welcomed the scheme and congratulated the Government of India for its efforts in promoting employment generation and workforce participation. The gathering was also addressed by Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada, and Shri Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South.
