CHAMBER AT WORK :  OCTOBER – NOVEMBER 2025
18-10-2025–9.30 a. m.–A state level seminar on ‘Bharat 2050 : Road Map to Economic Brilliance’ was organized by Lions Prakosta and Lions District 317D, in association with the SDM College of Business Management, and the Lions Club of Mangalore at SDM College Hall. The event was inaugurated by Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament (Dakshina Kannada Dist.). Ln. Kudupi Aravind Shenoy, Lion District Governor 317D and Shri D. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru (South) were the Chief Guests on the occasion. Shri Sunil Subramaniam, Ex MD & CEO of Sundaram Mutual Funds, CEO & Founder of Sense & Simplicity was the keynote Speaker. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Former MLC, Govt. of Karnataka,     CA S. S.Nayak, Former Chairman, ICAI Mangalore Chapter and Shri Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, Past President of KCCI and Dist. Coordinator Lion Prakosta were the panellists for the session. The session was moderated by Shri Kumble Narasimha Prabhu.

 

19-10-2025–10.30 a. m.–Bindu Jewellery was inaugurated by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President along with Swami Yogeshananda  Swamiji, Ramakrishna Ashram, Shri D. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru City South, Shri U. T. Ifthikar Fareed and Ms. Shobhana, Partner by lighting the lamp. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar was also felicitated for taking over as the newly elected President of KCCI.

 

22-10-2025–3.30 p. m.–KCCI President,  Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar addressed the members at the District Level Investors Meet organized by the Department of Industries and Commerce, District Industries Centre, Kasargod at Sandal Mist, Shankar Hills Munnad.

 

23-10-2025–3.00 p. m.–15th Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee (PTFC) meeting was conducted virtually. The meeting was chaired by Smt. P. Vinitha Sekhar, Commissioner of Customs, Mangaluru. Shri Jeethan Allen Sequiera, KCCI Hon. Secretary, attended the meeting.

 

  4.30 p. m.–The Seventh Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2025-26 and the First Meeting of the new Committee was convened at the Board room of KCCI.               Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers and Directors.

 

25-10-2025–10.00 a. m.–KCCI in collaboration with CREDAI Mangalore and Section Infin-8 Foundation (SI-8) organized an Industry Conclave on Carbon Credits & Green Finance 2025 – Driving Sustainability through Innovation and Collaboration at KCCI Meeting Hall, Mangaluru.

Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President delivered the welcome address. Shri Vinod A. R. Pinto, President, CREDAI Mangalore also addressed the gathering on the significance of the topic. Shri Vishwas US, Chairman, Startups, Sub-committee, KCCI introduced the Chief Guest & Key note speaker and other special guests to the audience.

Chief Guest and Keynote speaker for the event was  Shri R. Shanker, ESG & Sustainability Expert,  Former EVP & Group Head – OHS / ESG, Jindal Steel & Power Consultant – Quality Council of India, Global Speaker on ESG, Sustainability & Business Excellence.

The other two speakers were Shri Chandra Moulli N., Consulting Director – Global Technology & Strategy Expert in GCC Setup & Transformation, Former COO, T-Systems India, Ex-Fidelity, Polaris & Wipro Leader & Dr. Shivakiran Makam – Director – Strategy & Collaboration, Section Infin-8 Foundation, Execution Partner for Mission UTTHAN (Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, Govt. of India).

Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, KCCI Vice-President,               Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon.Secretary, Shri Ajay Prabhu Karkala and Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Directors of KCCI were also present on the occasion.

 

The programme saw active participation from Industry Leaders, Real Estate Developers, Entrepreneurs and from academia.

 

28-10-2025–10.00 a. m.–KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira participated in India Maritime Week 2025 from October   28th to October 30, 2025 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

–P.A. First Grade College (PAFGC), Mangaluru organized Campus Croma 2025 – a festival of talents of food fest at their campus for their PUC students. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President of KCCI, who was also felicitated on the occasion for assuming office as the new President of KCCI. The Distinguished Guest on the event was Shri K. Ahammad Kutty, Director (Finance), P.A. Education Trust. The event was presided by Dr. Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PAFGC.

 

  10.30 a. m.–NITK Surathkal in association with Siemens organized a seminar on Enhanced Manufacturing with IOT (Industry 4.0) at Digital Library Seminar Hall, NITK. Shri Nilesh S. Sawant, representative from Siemens was the speaker for the session. Shri B.A. Nazeer, Director, KCCI attended the event.

 

  4.00 p. m.–Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2025, ‘Vigilance : Our Shared Responsibility” – Grievance Redressal Camp With Trade and Industrial Association  was organized by Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, Mangaluru Central Excise & Central Tax Commissionerate at Trade Centre Building, Mangaluru. KCCI was represented by               Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, CA Keshava N. Ballakuraya, Chairman, Indirect Tax Committee and  Shri Abdul Khader Iddya, Member, Indirect Tax Committee of KCCI.

 

31-10-2025–8.30 a. m.–KCCI called on Shri Ivan D’Souza, Member of Legislative Council (MLC), Karnataka, at his office in Mangaluru to discuss matters related to KCCI ADR Centre. Present in the meeting were Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, KCCI Vice-President, Shri Isaac Vas, KCCI Past President and Prof. CA Lionel Aranha, Chairman of KCCI ADR Centre.

 

  10.30 a. m.–Vendors’ Meet 2025 was organized by the Materials Department of Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) at Indiana Convention Center, Mangaluru. Shri P.B.Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI attended the event.

 

  1.30 p. m.–Luncheon – interactive meeting with Dr. Manjula N, IAS, Secretary, Department of Electronics, IT & BT, and Managing Director, KRIDE was organized by Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) at WrkWrk Triangle, Mangaluru. The meeting focussed on interacting with industry anchors and ecosystem partners to understand the progress, strengths, and opportunities within the Mangaluru Cluster. Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, KCCI Vice-President, Shri Ashith B. Hegde, Director, KCCI and Shri Anand G. Pai, Immediate Past President attended the meet.

 

01-11-2025–9.00 a. m.–The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) was conferred the prestigious District Rajyotsava Award. The award was presented to Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President by Shri Ivan D’Souza, Member of Legislative Council (MLC), Karnataka at Nehru Maidan, Mangaluru. This symbolic recognition is another of the many feathers in the cap of the Chamber and is dedicated to the vision and selfless service of our past presidents, stalwarts, directors, members and staff who have collectively shaped the Chamber’s journey over the years and its role in advancing the region’s development.

 

06-11-2025–3.00 p. m.–Evolve, the women entrepreneurs’ association, organized an engaging panel discussion on the theme “Empowerment – Myth or Reality?” at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru. The panel featured several distinguished participants, including          Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Director of KCCI and Head of Elevate Brand Mangaluru, a Focus Area initiative of KCCI; Ms. Rahasya Pai Maroor, Chairperson of the Women Entrepreneurs Sub-committee of KCCI; and Ms. Salome Lobo, Associate Editor of the Journal of KCCI, among others.

 

10-11-2025–3.30 p. m.–The First Meeting of the Elevating Brand Mangaluru, Focus Area of KCCI for the year 2025-26 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Director & Head of the Focus Area of Elevate Brand Mangaluru. The meeting was attended by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Director, Smt. Vathika Pai, Past President, KCCI, Shri Yathish Baikampady and Ar. Niren Jain, members of the committee. Shri Anand G. Pai, Immediate Past President, KCCI attended the meeting virtually.

 

11-11-2025–11.00 a. m.–Airport  Users’  Consultation  Committee meeting for Mangaluru International Airport was held virtually to discuss on proposed capital expenditure projects at Mangaluru International Airport. The meeting was chaired by Shri Binu Varghese, Chief Airport Officer, Mangaluru International Airport Limited, Mangaluru. KCCI was represented by           Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, Smt. Vathika Pai, Past President, KCCI and Chairperson of Airlines, Airport and Tourism sub-committee of KCCI.

 

13-11-2025–12 noon–The First Meeting of the Labour Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2025-26 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by Shri Shamlal Yermal, Chairman, Labour Sub-committee of KCCI. The meeting was attended by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary.

 

  2.30 p. m.–New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Stadium, Mangaluru. The event was presided over by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, in the august presence of Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India.

Ms. Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for MSME and Labour & Employment, Government of India; Shri Mankal S. Vaidya, Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport, Government of Karnataka; Capt. Brijesh Chowta, MP, Dakshina Kannada; Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, Chairman, NMPA; and other dignitaries graced the occasion.

KCCI President Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, Vice-President Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, and Hon. Secretary Shri Jeethen Allen Sequeira attended the celebration.

 

14-11-2025–11.00 a. m.

 

–A district level single window meeting was held in the conference room of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Shri Darshan H. V, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, D.K Dist., Mangaluru. KCCI was represented by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI. Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru along with members of other associations, was also present.

 

 –11.15 a. m.–A district level Kaigarika Spandana meeting was held at the conference room of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Shri Darshan H. V, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, D.K Dist., Mangaluru. KCCI was represented by Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI. Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru along with members of other associations, was also present.

 

  4.30 p. m.–Kaju Centennial Summit 2025 was organized by Karnataka Cashew Manufacturers Association (KCMA) to commemorate 100 years of cashew processing in Mangaluru at Dr. T.M.A Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. Ms. Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State of MSME and Labour and Employment, Govt. of India inaugurated the event. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, President, KCCI, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Vice-President, Shri Jeethen Allen Sequeira, Hon. Secretary and Shri B. A. Nazeer, Director attended the inaugural event.
