16-09-2022 2.30 p. m. Southern Railway, Palghat Division held their 159th meeting of Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) at Valluvanad Meeting Hall at Divisional Office, Palakkad. Shri M. Ahmed Bawa, representing KCCI as a nominated member of DRUCC partook in the meeting. Various suggestions were placed before the meeting pertaining to Mangaluru Central Railway Station.
2.30 p. m. A Workshop on GST Departmental Audit and Annual Return was organized by KCCI at their Meeting Hall, Bunder, Mangaluru. Ms. Meera Pandit, Joint Commissioner, Commercial Tax, Mangaluru was the Chief Guest who addressed the audience. KCCI President Shri M.Ganesh Kamath delivered the Welcome Address. Other speakers were CA Coline O. Rodrigues who spoke on the topic, ‘GST Audit notices and how to respond to such notices’ and CA Vikas Shenoy on the topic, ‘Filing of Form 9 under GST – its importance and implications’. KCCI then Hon. Secretary Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed presented the vote of thanks.
19-09-2022 5.30 p. m. The 1st Meeting of the Executive Committee of Centre for Entrepreneurship Opportunities and Learning (CEOL), D.K. Mangaluru for the year 2022-23 was convened at CEOL Conference Hall, Mallikatta, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Shri Gokuldas Naik, Joint Director, District Industries Centre (DIC), Mangaluru and Member Secretary, CEOL. Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor, the then President of KCCI attended the meeting.
24-09-2022 6.30 p. m. Nitte-KBL MSME Business Excellence Awards 2022 was jointly organized by AIC Nitte Incubation Centre and Karnataka Bank at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Kodialbail, Mangaluru. The event was inaugurated by Shri Mahabaleshwara M.S., MD & CEO, Karnataka Bank. 4.30 p. m. 82nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Members of KCCI was held at the Meeting Hall of KCCI with the participation of members. Outgoing President Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor addressed the members.

30-09-2022 5.30 p. m. 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Kanara Industries Association (KIA) was held at their Hall, Baikampady, Mangaluru. Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, the new President of KCCI attended the meeting.
01-10-2022 9.30 a. m. Two days Builders Industry Gathering Show – BIG Show India Exhibition was organized by ZMZ Events at TMA Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. The event was inaugurated by Chairman of Yenepoya Group, Shri Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi. Shri Zaheer Ahmed, Managing Director and founder of ZMZ events welcomed the gathering. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath was one of the Guests of Honour among other dignitaries on stage.

New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) under the aegis of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Govt. of India had the Virtual Inauguration (Lokarpan) and Foundation Stone Laying (Shilanyas) of various projects of New Mangalore Port and Mormugao Port by the Hon’ble Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa at BDC Auditorium, NMPA. KCCI was represented by its Vice-President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu.
5.00 p. m. Road Safety Committee meeting was held at the Conference Room of Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Rajendra K.V., Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada District and President of District Road Safety Committee. KCCI President Shri M.Ganesh Kamath attended the meeting.
14-10-2022 4.30 p. m. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath called on Ms. Shikha C., Commissioner for Commercial Taxes, Govt. of Karnataka during her visit to Department of Commercial Tax, Mangaluru. President apprised her about the Chamber activities and various seminars being conducted for its members on GST and other related topics. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Chairman of GST Sub-committee of KCCI, CA Keshava N. Ballukaraya, KCCI Past Treasurer, Shri Ganesh Bhat also briefed her on trade activities and various representations submitted to central and state governments. Ms. Shikha also extended support in educating the KCCI members on recent amendments on taxes etc from time to time. Ms. Meera Pandit, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax, Mangaluru, Shri Mytreya A, Chief Operating Officer of KCCI and other officials from commercial tax department were also present.
16-10-2022 10.30 a. m. The Gowd Saraswat Brahman Seva Sangh (R) celebrated its 83rd Foundation Day Program at Sujir C.V. Nayak Hall, Mangaluru. Foundation Day Oration was delivered by Prof. Dr. M. Venkatraya Prabhu., Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal University. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath was Guest of Honour at the event. Prof. Dr. Kasturi Mohan Pai, President G. Vishwanath Bhat, Hon. Architects & Environmental Planners, Mangalore had their initial stakeholder meet to discuss about ‘Promoting Sustainable Travel Behaviour Through Employer – Based Commute Incentives’, a research based project funded by Government of Karnataka (GoK) and undertaken by Manipal School of Architecture and Planning (MSAP), Manipal, at the Lecture Hall 1 of KMC, Lighthouse Hill Road, Mangaluru. KCCI President Shri M.Ganesh Kamath and Director Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed attended the meeting.

Nitte University, DST- Technology Enabling Centre organized an Interactive discussion session on Food Industries on the occasion of World Food Day – 2022 at the Board Room, Nitte Institute of Architecture, Paneer Campus, Derlakatte, Mangaluru. 4.00 p. m A meeting was called by Hon’ble Minister for Kannada and Culture, Shri V. Sunil Kumar to discuss about the participation and arrangements for the event, ‘Koti Kantha Gayana’, cultural songs of Karnataka to be sung across the state at 11am on 28th October, 2022 on the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava. The meeting was held at the Netravati Hall of Dakshina Kannada Jilla Panchayat, Mangaluru. KCCI was represented by its Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A.

Ganesh Kamath called on Shri Imamuddin Ahmad, I.R.S, Commissioner, Central Excise and Central Tax, Mangaluru at his office in Trade Centre building, Mangaluru. The President briefed about various initiatives taken by the Chamber in addressing issues raised by members on GST by sending representatives to central and state governments and also about various seminars being conducted. KCCI Director and Chairman of EXIM Cell Sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira moderated the session on the subject of road connectivity issues.

A meeting was called by the new Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Ravikumar M.R., at the Conference Hall of his office, Mangaluru, to discuss about the preparatory arrangements for Bharat Scouts and Guides International Jamboree event to be held at Moodabidri in December 2022. JSW Infrastructure, in association with India Seatrade and Federation of Indian Export Organizations, organized Cargo Connexions Conclave at The Ocean Pearl, Navbharat Circle, Mangaluru. Welcome address was given by Shri K. Mohandas, IAS (Retd), Chairman, India Seatrade. Keynote address was delivered by Shri N. Sivasailam, IAS (Retd), Former Special Secretary (Logistics). KCCI President was one of the invitees at the concluding ceremony of the event. The theme of the event was “Corruption–Free India for a Developed Nation”. KCCI President spoke on the occasion.
07-11-2022 4.30 p. m. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Office Bearers and Board of Directors called on Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (MP), on Monday, 7th November at his residential office at Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala. The President introduced all Office Bearers and Board of Directors to Dr. Heggade. Past President of KCCI Smt. Vathika Pai briefed Dr. Heggade about the role of KCCI in the development of trade and commerce of the region. Dr. Heggade was felicitated by the KCCI President and other Office Bearers. KCCI President also submitted a memorandum to Dr. Heggade on “Intervention towards completion of four-laning of National Highway 75 and strengthening of NH 275” and urged him to take them up with the Government of India, Ministry of Road, Transport & highways for giving highest priority towards the early completion of projects for ensuring seamless connectivity. ISAI MSME Yatra & MSME Sethu (75 days – 75 cities – 75 programmes) organized by Mangaluru Branch of SIRC of ICAI in association with Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Kanara Industries Association (KIA), District Small Industries Association (DSIA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mangaluru. The inaugural address was presented by Deputy Director, District Industries Centre (DIC), Shri Vivekananda G at DSIA Auditorium, Yeyyadi Industrial Area. Session on “Empowering of MSMEs by Financial Institutions” was conducted by the officials of SBI, SIDBI, NSIC. The flagging off of the bus yatra was done by KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath along with other dignitaries at Yeyyadi Industrial Area. The second session of the event was conducted at Kanara Industries Association (KIA) Auditorium. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath addressed the gathering by mentioning the role of MSMEs in generating employment and economic development of the nation. KIA and DSIA President CA Ananthesh Prabhu and Shri Vishan L. Salian also expressed the role of MSMEs and also the problems faced by them. Shri Devaraj K., Joint Director, MSME DFO, Mangaluru spoke about “Benefits for MSMEs & Government Initiatives”. 10-11-2022 2.30 p. m. Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) organized BCIC Emerging Star Award 2023, Namma Startup Award road show event at K-tech Innovation Hub, Mangaluru. KCCI was the supporting partner of the event. Around 50 startups registered for the award and attended the event. The event had three speakers addressing the startup companies. Shri Ganesh Kamath, President, KCCI addressed the gathering on the topic, ‘Opportunities to Startup in Coastal Karnataka’. Shri Rabindra Sah, Chief Engineer – Strategic Project Tata Technologies spoke on the topic, ‘Implementation of Deep Tech with Design Thinking’. Shri Mayur Shetty, Founder CEO, Black Frog Technologies expressed his views on ‘Entrepreneurs – Survival of the Fittest at Tier 2 city’. Mr. Jagan Karthick G, Program Lead, Derbi Foundation explained the registration process for the startups to nominate themselves for the award. Ms. Athmika Amin, Director and Chairperson of the committee and Editor of the journal chaired the meeting. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Hon.
