03-09-20259.30 a. m.Final Pitch Day – Exploring Entrepreneurship Program was organized by Canara Engineering College at their Seminar Hall 2, Mangaluru. 14 shortlisted student teams presented their start-up ideas before the expert jury members arranged by SI8. The jury members on the occasion were Shri Vishwas US, Chairman, Start-up Sub-Committee of KCCI and Founder Director, Section Infin-8 Foundation (SI-8), Shri Puneeth Rai, Incubation Manager, Atal Incubation Centre, Nitte and Shri Ajay Prabhu Karkala, Director, KCCI and Managing Director of KVP Business Solutions, Mangaluru. Dr. Udaya Kumar K. Shenoy, Dean, Research & Development and Shri Prashanth Kumar A., Coordinator-Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the college were also present on the occasion.

 

06-09-202511:00 a. m.KCCI Director and Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association of India (CLFMA) Hon. Secretary, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed virtually participated in the Stakeholders Consultation Meeting under the Informal Group of Ministers (IGoM) on Social, Welfare and Security Sectors for the Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Fisheries Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAHD) held in hybrid mode to invite suggestions on the four pillars of the IGoM (legislative, policy, institutional, and process reforms) for the fisheries sector. The Meeting was chaired by Union Minister, MoFAHD and Panchayati Raj, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh. Secretary, Department of Fisheries (DoF) Shri Abhilaksh Likhi steered the consultation and feedback session aimed at identifying the challenges and reforms for enhancing production, productivity and exports promotion in the fisheries sector in line with the vision of becoming Viksit Bharat by 2047. Shri Nissar proposed to the Government that Fish Soluble Paste, a key input in the Fish Feed Industry, should be exempted from GST (0%).

Ahmed Mudassar attended an exclusive round table hosted by Vertex Managed Workspace in honour of Shri John Maier, Chief Executive Officer Bose Professional, spotlighted Mangaluru’s emergence as a promising technology hub held at Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru. The event brought together industry leaders, academics, and government representatives to explore the city’s potential for innovation and enterprise. Shri Darshan H. V., IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, presided over the session.

 

09-09-20251.00 p. m. An interactive session was organised at Wrkwrk, Mangaluru to enlighten the Delegates from Nagpur,   Shri Shashikant Chaudhary of Happy Eaters.  and Retd. Lt. Cdr. Yogesh Bhavsar from GAME on the initiatives taken by various organizations in Mangaluru for the overall growth of the Region. Also insights pertaining to the development of the region of the visiting delegates were discussed. Delegates from Other trade bodies, education institutions, trade and IT fraternity were present. The chamber was represented by its vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar.

Ahmed Mudassar to discuss the preparations for the Aero Meet 2025 to be organized by Adani Airports – Mangaluru International Airport scheduled on 12th September 2025 at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru.           Shri Man Mohan Reddy Pati, Head- Projects Project Construction, Shri Ravi Raghavendra Jere, Associate General Manager – Corporate Affairs, Shri Anagha Thekkekkara, Head – Finance & Accounts, Shri David John Lead – Legal, Shri Arun Kumar K, Lead Contract Administration & Project Planning, and Shri Jagannath Naik M, Lead- Cargo, briefed the event flow. KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Director, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Director and Head of ‘Elevate Brand Mangaluru’, Focus Area of KCCI, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Past President of KCCI, Smt. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai along with delegates from various associations, participated in a discussion organized by the newspaper Vijaya Karnataka at their Mangaluru office. The session focused on the topic ‘Roads and Infrastructure in Mangaluru’ to be featured on the occasion of Engineers’ Day.

 

  10.30 a. m.KCCI Vice-President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, participated in the Press Meet organized by the Branch MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Mangaluru. The meet was held to brief the media about the upcoming Vendor Development Programme & Industrial Exhibition – MSME Expo 2025, scheduled on 18th and 19th September 2025 at Mini Town Hall, Mangaluru. The event is being jointly organized by the Ministry of MSME, KCCI, District Industries Centre (DIC), and Kanara Industries Association (KIA).

 

  4.00 p. m.Adani Airports – Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) hosted The Aero Meet 2025 at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru. Shri Mukesh Nankani, Chief Administrative Officer, MIA presented the Welcome address. Shri Anand G.  Pai, KCCI President, Smt. Vathika Pai – Past President of KCCI, and other delegates participated in the panel discussion on the topics, ‘Magic of Air Travel’ and ‘Magic of Mangaluru’.             Ms. M. Athmika Amin, KCCI Director and Head of Elevate Brand Mangaluru, Focus Area of KCCI, addressed the gathering on KCCI’s role in elevating brand Mangaluru. The event was attended by Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Vice-President, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Hon. Secretaries of KCCI, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Shri B.A. Nazeer and Shri Sujir Prasad Nayak, Directors of KCCI. Ar. Niren Jain, Chairman of Infrastructure and Urban Development and Smart City of KCCI and Shri Mytreya A, Chief Operating Officer, KCCI were also present on the occasion.

Prashanth Kumar, Head of Programmes, Akashvani and Shri Lathish Paldane, Transmission Executive, Akashvani, Mangaluru proposed the programme details. KCCI Vice-President, Shri P. B.   4.00 p. m.Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College, Mangaluru, signed a Memorandum ofUnderstanding (MoU) with KCCI. The MoU was exchanged between Advo. Vasanth Karandoor – Correspondent of the college and KCCI President,          Shri Anand G. Pai. Others who represented the college were, Dr. Jayaprakash – Principal and Shri Mithun Chandra, Lecturer in Commerce. KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. The partnership aims to strengthen industry–academia collaboration, providing students with practical exposure, internships, and opportunities to engage with the business community.

The MoU was exchanged between CA Shivananda Pai, Governing Council President, SBC and KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, Shri B.V. Naidu, Chairman of KDEM, Shri Mohandas Pai, Former Infosys CFO and other dignitaries were present on the occasion who addressed the gathering. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai participated in the panel discussion. Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Shri Ashith B. Hegde, KCCI Directors participated in the event.

 

25-09-202511.00 a. m.The 166th Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting was held at Valluvanad Hall, Divisional Office, Palakkad.  The meeting was chaired by Shri Madhukar Roat,  Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Palakkad Division. Shri M. Ahmed Bawa, the nominated member from KCCI representing DRUCC attended the meeting and put forward key suggestions concerning railway services and passenger amenities.

Dr. K. U. Mada, a distinguished member of the Editorial Board KCCI, officially launched his latest book titled “Spirit of Enterprise – Basic Moving Force Behind Life”. The book was formally released by the President, Shri Anand G Pai, in the presence of Vice-President Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Treasurer CA Abdur Rahman Musba, and Hon. Secretaries Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai. The book highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit and intellectual contributions of Dr. Mada to the business community.

 

  6.00 p. m.Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar was elected as the new President of KCCI at the conclusion of 85th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar is a partner at the family business, M/s P. B. Abdul Hameed & Sons, an established entity engaged in the trading of spices and hill produce.

 

He holds a B.E. in Biotechnology from NMAMIT, Nitte, and went on to pursue his MBA in Marketing and Finance from Alliance Business Academy, Bengaluru. He has also completed the e-Management Development Certification Programme in Investment Banking from IIM Kozhikode.

 

Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar was elected as the Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba as the Honorary Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira were elected as Honorary Secretaries. Shri B. A. Nazeer, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Shri Amith Ramachandra, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Shri Ashith B. Hegde, CA Nandagopal Shenoy, Shri Vincent Cutinha, Shri Sujir Prasad Nayak, Shri Dasharath N. Shetty & Shri Ajay Prabhu Karkala were elected as the Directors of the KCCI.

 

09-10-20259.30 a. m.A two days’ workshop on ‘Technology Clinic’ was organized by MSME, Government of Karnataka, in association with Kanara Industries Association (KIA), Mangalore at C N Shetty Convention Hall, KIA, Mangaluru. Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Shri B.A. Nazeer, KCCI Director and Chairman of Energy, Power, Banking, Finance and MSME, Sub-committee of KCCI and other dignitaries were the Chief Guests on the occasion.

 

  4.30 p. m.KCCI President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar called on the Chairman of New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA),          Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju at his office and submitted an memorandum for extension for rebate on vessel-related charges (VRC) for Container Vessels. Present in the meeting were KCCI Vice-President, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Hon. Secretaries, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequiera. The office bearers of KCCI also met Smt. S. Shanthi – Dy. Chairperson, NMPA, Shri Jijo Thomas – Secretary, NMPA and Shri K. Rajendra Kumar – Traffic Manager, NMPA.

 

  5.00 p. m.North Malabar Chamber of Commerce (NMCC), Kasaragod met the Office Bearers of KCCI at the office of New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA). Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, KCCI President, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, KCCI Vice-President, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Jeethan Allen Sequiera, Hon. KCCI Director and Head of the Focus Area on Elevate Brand Mangaluru, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, apprised the Minister about KCCI’s Brand Mangaluru initiative and the series of podcasts highlighting the region’s business prosperity and promoting it to a global audience.

Verma, Minister of State (MoS), for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India at Jageshwara, Uttarakhand. Shri Mohandas Prabhu exchanged views with the Minister on issues concerning food distribution.
